Korean DVD plastic wrapping...

If you ever get a large order of DVDs you know what I talk about when it comes to open the plastic wrapping around the DVD. The plastic wrap can sometimes be next to impossible to open, unless you use a sharp object to open it. And even then it can be annoying as one is careful to not scratching the DVD cover etc.

I just received an order from YesAsia with including Musa: SP (R3) and Memories of Murder: SP (R3), and these had an intelligent way of opening the plastic wrapping. A similar plastic opening as exist on cigarette packages, which made it quick and easy to open the DVD wrapping. I must say, I thought it was so simple and I love it that had to post this thread here on DVD Talk.

I had that kind of wrapping on my Fight Club DTS. Was really a nice feature!

I just use the little katana/letter opener that came with the "When the Last Sword is Drawn" Korean DVD to cut open all my DVDs now.

Ahhh...good idea! I've been wondering what to do with that thing.

I also got a Twins Effect letter opener one day when I bought a few movies at a store. I just used my pocket knife, very carefully, to open the more stubborn plastic wrappings.

I think I remember the plastic strip thing on R1 DVDs sometimes, but they never worked.

I nibble at the corners until it comes loose.

I use a scalpel, surgical precision. If I could just figure out a way to get those darn "security device" stickers off without taking the cover art with them. I check very closely to make sure no amount of the cover is sticking out from under the plastic in stores but sometimes they come in the mail that way. There's nothing like a big jagged white line at the top or bottom of the cover. Security stickers blow.

Yes, that's one way to lose a finger! One wrong move and you'll have one bloody DVD...
