What's up with the big fat goth kid in "The Butterfly Effect"?

This movie seems entertaining enough, but this fat kid looks kind of freaky. Is he all over this film or what? If so, I'll pass. I've already seen "Spawn".

THAT'S where I'd seen him before. He was the fat white guy in Remember the Titans.

Wow! It's a schooner!
- Ha ha ha ha! You dumb bastard! It's not a schooner... it's a Sailboat!
A schooner IS a sailboat, stupid head!
- ...You know what! There is NO Easter Bunny! Over there, that's just a guy in a suit!

You'd be the first. No-one has made fun of the fact that he is fat so far in this thread.

I'll forever remember him as "that kid from Boy Meets World".

There's a certain irony in the fact that someone named "Turd" finds someone else freaky, isn't there?

There's nothing inherently freaky about fat people. There is something quite freaky about fat Goth people.

B.T.W. He was good in American History X.

The movie itself is great. I consider this to be an "R-Rated" (it deals with very touchy real life subjects) Back to the Future, and it's really good.

whatever happened to that tv show that this is like? a couple years ago, there was this show where this guy heard a song and went back to high school each episode and he'd try to fix some part of his past which would change the future in a way he didn't like, and he'd hear the song again and go back and forth between future (present) and past each episode...I think it only lasted about 4-5 weeks then it was cancelled. It's funny how a few movies coming out a based on Groundhog Day and/or Memento plot devices....

I really really liked this film. I'm going to see it again this weekend. I will also buy the DVD. Best film I've seen in awhile.

Doesn't the movie come out this Friday? How'd you already see it?

It sounds like you are vaguely describing a UPN (or was it WB?) show about a kid that went back to the 80s as his present self with all of his memories, but everyone saw him as the 13-15 year old he was in the early 80s. The show only had him going back in the beginning, he was trying to get his parents not to divorce, trying to help his friends and himself make better decisions. It was more like Peggy Sue Got Married, than The Butterfly Effect, and right now I can not recall the name of the show, das where are you?

Do-Over:

"Thirty-four-year-old Joel Larsen gets a second chance to get his life right, thanks to a freakish accident that catapults him back to 1981. Blessed with adult wisdom, though hampered by adolescent urges, Joel sets out to right the wrongs that will befall his family."

I heard on the radio this morning that this movie was made over 3 years ago, but it was so bad they didn't release it. But now that Ashton is big, they figured why not give it a go.

Why can't that happen to me?

Same way other people see movies early... preview screenings and test screenings. Haven't you ever been to one? It's pretty cool sometimes cuz they show a raw cut of the film and ask for feedback and stuff. This wasn't the case with Butterfly Effect - it was the final cut and as we walked out they just asked us to say 2 words of what we thought of the film and some girl was writing it down. Sometimes they have questionaires or just notecards for us to write on. Best part is - it's free.
