any possibility of a Spiderman Superbit soon?

Is there any chance Columbia will release Spiderman in Superbit form in the near future? I held off buying the initial release because I've been hoping for a Superbit. I may have to buy the first release after all. They should definetely release this and Black Hawk Down in DTS.

I'm sure such a release is inevitable (maybe next summer as a tie-in promotion with the sequel?). In the meantime, there is a R2 Superbit of the title in Japan.

I wouldn/t buy the current Spider-Man release since a Superbit version is inevitable in R1. I'm guessing it will be here by the time the next movie opens in May. Maybe even soon.

I was somewhat disappointed with the video quality and I am think the Superbit format will improve the flaws I saw (namely the noise).

There hasn't been anything remotely resembling an announcement, but I would bet serious cash that 2004 will see a Spider-Man Superbit or Superbit Deluxe as a tie-in to generate interest for the sequel. They did it for Charlie's Angels, and there's no way they won't do it for Spidey. This is Sony's biggest movie ever and they won't pass up the chance to tap the well as many times as possible.

Like everyone else has said I'd expect one come next Summer. I was really disappointed in the quality of the transfer for what was the biggest movie for Summer 2003 if not for all of 2003. I suppose if they went all out then it wouldn't give them reason to rerelease it later on.

I'm not that big of a fan of the film--I thought Daredevil was a better comic book movie--but I'm 100% sure that there will be a superbit release of it, and when there is I will definitely be picking it up. I agree with most of you that we could expect it early next summer just in time for Spiderman 2, like what happened this summer with the Charlies Angels superbit release.
