Onkyo HT-S660B or Kenwood HTB-505
Hey everyone...Im looking to buy a Home Theater in a box and I think ive narrowed it down to 2.
The Onkyo HT-S660B and the Kenwood HTB-505. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on either of these.
Thanks

Depends on how much you want to spend. I was going to go with an Onkyo system(which most people seem to recommend), but I picked up the Kenwood system at Best Buy for $320 instead. Just watched U-571 last night and was very impressed with the sound the Kenwood puts out.

DVD Talk Special Edition
I own the Kenwood system and am very happy with it. Plenty of power and listening modes, and good sound quality for the price. My only complaint is that the display is not fully dimmable.

I have an older HTiB from Kenwood (4+ years old now?!) It was a good starter set and I got it for a crazy discount..(Thank you Disgruntled Employee from CC!) Because I got it for super cheap, I can't complain...however it did leave something to be desired. The sub is very good (relative to other HTiB at the price point) The rest of the speakers were decent, and the receiver was fine...but no DTS (remember it was awhile back). I mistakenly bought a Sony DE-545 (800.com Passport 40% off xmas time a few years back)...DON'T buy low end Sony..that model had the dreaded "Hissing" problem.
Oh yeah..your question. Onkyo...heard great things about it. Kenwood is pretty good if you get a nice deal.
