Search function needs to be modified
having a minimum length of 4 characters is causing too much hassles when looking for threads..
try to search for any threads of the following..
the man show
son of the beach
the best you can search on is
show
beach
not very useful
just and example, but it proves the point

However, "search" is a five-letter word, so you can search for "search" to find previous threads on this very subject.
Some of the "search sucks" threads of days past:

Yes, this is a known issue. Yes, it is an inconvenience. No, it apparently is not in the cards for a change any time soon.

In his defense, the search function is so piss poor as it has no wildcard ability and a 4 letter minimum, I rarely bother using it anymore.
And no, not because I'm lazy, spoiled or whatever. Because it is a basic product feature that me and many Internet consumers want (and is essential in a place like this that is filled with typos). I understand Geoff's decision to conserve server usage, but it is a major negative with this site. Rather than get constantly frustrated, I just have defaulted to ignoring it.
People like to be able to target the information they need. If they cannot, their satisfaction likely drops.

Londo, EVERYONE knows this is part of DVD Talk's approach to make its members use their noggin more.
What fun would it be to have everything handed to you on a silver platter? The button forces one to be creative in their searches...instead of typing "the man show" try "juggies", "adam", "jimmy" & [most important] "trampolines".

SEARCH is one of the key features of the next rev of the forum that has been addressed. It's in beta right now, probably will be live here at the end of the summer

I think this topic gets asked about more than the threads from back in the day that asked "When is Star Wars coming to dvd?"

Actually, X, I think you oughta stick with the third person plural for a while. Kinda suits you all...
