Interesting news about 24 season 2
Hmm...
Check this out. Looks like the Region 2 24 set will have seven discs. If those of us in Region 1 will be gypped this time around (apparently, we were only supposed to get 6 discs), I think I'm going to start looking around for my hacksaw. Hopefully things change before September...

Sweet! The R2 packaging blows R1 away. I am all over this regardless of what extras go on the R1 release. The UK definitely loves its 24 and treats it right.
By the way, just had the opportunity to view the 24 Season 2 Emmy screener -- -it has great content (first episode and the one with the really big explosion) but, alas, was 4:3 letterboxed so will definitely be loooking forward to this.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
according to here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/go...wswire&id=6042 we only get Dolby 2.0 for sound. I hope this is a typo.

If that is in fact the same set being released in the US, I may actually have to sell my firstborn to get it.
Of course, I'll have to get a firstborn to sell...

mods, to not create confusion (and because we can confirm it) how bout putting "for both region 1 and 2)
This looks like a very good set. I wasn't gonna pick it up since the two of us (me and my dad) already saw it, but with 44 deleted scenes (around 2 per episode), and to be able to play these via seamless branching, I might get this set.

I'd pick this up for the commentaries alone--we don't know how many commentary tracks were actually recorded, but it looks like they did a good job of recruiting people to sit and talk. The cast list alone is pretty impressive: Kiefer, Haysbert, the Sarahs, Xander, PJJ, and Michelle Forbes? Compare this with the Buffy sets, where we had to wait until season 4 to get a commentary with a cast member.

If the R1 set doesn't have 5.1 sound I will import the R2. I'm tired of R2 getting much superior tv releases than R1, and this is one set that I hope Fox doesn't f**k up.

i'm gonna chime in and say i don't care for the package design. i'd like to see them take the same graphics from season one and change the secondary color...from blue to green or red. at least make it look like they belong together. aside from that i have no complaints, well unless you consider i'd rather it be released tomorrow than in sept.

I'd also like to add in that on August 11, Seasons 1 and 2 of 24 will be available in a limited edition numbered collector's box 2 pack for only 24 hours.
Check out my thread in International DVD for the info.
