HDTV problem with DirectTV

This is slightly off subject but I get the feeling you folks will know the answer.

Whenever I watch a signal from my Direct TV dish on my Samsung HDTV I get a shimmer or pixilization around objects that move. It reminds me of the distortion I used to see when the TV stations would speed up a movie to fit into a time slot. This is not a problem on a regular TV; it is worse on some stations than others; when the obects are still they are sharp as a tack, when they move it washes out; fianally, when I tape anything the problem is worse. All other sources are perfect when viewed (DVD, broadcast signal, VHS tape from a non Direct TV source).

I get the feeling that the Direct TV digital signal, converted to analog and then back to digital is the problem and I am out of luck.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also have a Samsung HDTV and DirecTV but I have never experienced this problem. Are you using an S-video cable to run from your DirecTV receiver into your TV? That's what I use and it works great.

sounds like normal compression artifacts to me.
