I was there too evenflowddt. I thought they kicked a$$. I was against the barrier dead center for both openers, but it was too much for me and the wife and made it through just the first song of the foo's and went up and got seats.

Also, where can i get tickets w/o paying crazy 'convenience fees' and what not?

Well, I just saw 'em Friday and it was a pretty good show - similar to the last time I saw them about 2 years ago, though Dave's between song banter has gotten better - he's pretty funny and has a good read of the audience and jokes around accordingly. I really liked how they went off and did long exteded versions of some of the songs and would deviate from the album versions enough to make it a new experience, yet not so drastically different where you'd just wish they'd play it normally. They pretty much played all their "hits" in their almost 2 hour set. They also did a pretty fun cover of an old Angry Somoans song that was quite punk.
One little sticking point was that Dave didn't really play any drums - on their last tour there was a separate drum set that he'd occasionally get on and jam along with the band - but not this time. Taylor's an okay drummer, but Grohl really is one of the best drummers ever, and to not hear/see him play drums was a little bit of a bummer - wait, he did play on one song (but I don't think this counts) - for the first song of the encore they brought out Liam Lynch (he does that song "United States of Whatever") and he did that song along with Dave on drums and the bass player of No Doubt on bass - It was a fun little diversion.
My own personal beef with the show was that Dave's guitar just plain sounded like sh*t. For this tour he's been playing those clear plasic guitars and there is no way to make those things sound good, and they just have a horrible tone. Since I fancy myself a guitar player, one of my things that I'm anal about is guitar tone and when I know it can be better, I become dissapointed - especially since Dave's tone used to be great, like on the last tour when he used Gibson guitars.
BTW, for what it's worth, the Transplants (the opening act) were the worst live act I've ever seen in my life. They took the worst aspects of the rap/butt rock scene and stumbled around stage playing everything out of time, out of tune and just plain sloppy. If they were stuck for a word in their rap they'd just say "F**k", and if they wanted a rallying cry for the chorus they'd just yell "phuck you!". What I don't get is that most of the crown liked them... whatever.
