Boondock Saints is without forced subtitles!
I know because I live in Germany and the disk is already pre-ordered.
And Versus: as you know it's only dubbed and subtitled in
german. So you might wanna give the KSS-Version a try.
(Jap. Import)
But the box is cool, ain't it?
(Also on my wishlist)

Kitano: Cool, thanks for the info. Can the Boondock Saints be ordered anywhere on the internet, or is it illegal for them to sell it due to it being rated 18 in Germany? If so, I'll have to buy it from Austria or someplace.

@ Yocke: You have to order it in Austria or Switzerland.
Look at http://www.1a-dvdshop.ch

It is illegal to send DVDs or other media which is rated 18 and over through Germany via mail.

BTW: There are no forced subtitles. Columbia did never release any DVD which had forced subtitles.

Is it already out in stores in Germany? My father is going there at the end of the month, so I could ask him to bring a copy home for me.

... but some do it! With success, i might add.
But you have to verify that you are older than 18 by sending a
scan of your ID.
I don't know if it's legal to post the adresses here,
so if you wanna know send me a pm

Is this version actually uncut? The Italian and Danish versions have a running time of 108 min listed on many sites.

I can assure you that atleast the Danish version is uncut, as I have seen it. You're probably noticing what is called "Pal-Speedup". Since film in the US is shot at 24 frames per second, and Pal is shown in 25 frames per second, they just speed the film up 4% to make it match. When they convert film to Ntsc, they do some other more advanced trickery that I wont go into here.

Not it's not the NTSC-->PAL speeup because I was referring to the German release (running time 104min) which is also PAL.

Does anyone have the Italian or the Danish version? They are both stated to be uncut and I would like to know what the running time is.

This is weird, because everywhere I look, the Swedish release (which is the same as the Danish release) is stated to be 110 minutes long. And the Canadian cover says that that version is 97 minutes long. That doesn't work really, because pal speedup would remove at least a few of those extra minutes. And there wasn't that much cut from the R-rated Canadian release.

I can assure, that the German VHS-release was fully uncut! There were no cuts, like in the US-, Canadian or British DVD-release. Compared to the Japanese DVD both versions were the same.
The same version will be released on DVD March 11th.
Columbia Home Entertainment Germany did never release ANY cut DVDs, so I'm really sure, that there will be no cuts.

I hope there is another tin release of Versus at some point with all those extras but with English subs. That tin sure would be cool to own - plus those extras sound totally worth a double-dip.

Finally I got my "Boondock Saints" or "Der blutige Pfad Gottes"
and some of you wanted to know about the quality.
Well, the sound is really nice (5.1), uses all speakers nearly all the time + great soundtrack.
The pic is not perfect but Ok. Seems to be a BIT grainy some time,
but as I said, it's OK. Nothing to complain about really.
The menu is completely in german, but you'll get thru it.
I own some japanese DVDs my own with jap. menu and after short time you'll get it.

And don't forget the rope, Charles Bronson always had a rope...
