Wow. I really wasn't too happy about this one (except for the repeated D-Con references; Archer needs to get on the internet or something).
My friend did point out that Spock was actually an exception to the rule and that most Vulcans are pretty reprehensible. Even Suvak was pretty much a bastard. Remember that one that tried to manipulate Spock into killing Kirk while he (Spock) was in the throes of Pon Farr(sp?)? I just don't even like Vulcans anymore. (Except for Spock.) At least the Romulans let you know where you stand. Plus their spaceships are cooler looking.
Tuvok was probably the only other nice one, and he was pretty messed up in general (what with that rage thing and his degenerative disease).

Spock was half human. Remember kids, Berman said this was going to be different than "Star Trek". The Vulcans think of us as "children" and after first contact basically led us around by the nose until they thought we were ready for space travel. Even then, they put a Vulcan aboard Enterprise. Vulcans are NOT nice people, as we will see in later episodes.

Like I said before, it was still pretty good. It wasn't totally stupid and meaningless like last week's episode and there was lots of character development. I don't like the fact that B&B don't stick to ToS continuity and find it hard to beleive the Vulcans have changed that much in the 100yrs inbetween, but there it is.
Nobody accused the Vulcans as being nice, but here we have a Vulcan with a conscience, or at least trying to have one. Archer is sickiningly righteous and to have a little rub off on T'Pol is pretty interesting.
Yes, it was a B&B episode, but if there are stories without a morality lesson, they're heading in the right direction.
If there are more episodes like this I'll stick with it for a while. I didn't make it to the final season of Voy but I just might with Ent.

I think I fell in love with Jolene Blalock during this episode, she did a good job facially expressing the pent-up emotions. Her acting chops are improving nicely.
