Shawshank Redemption Japan DTS DVD

Does anybody have this DVD? Or is there somewhere a link available for a review?

I own it. The picture is a little soft but it's not bad. The dts track is excellent though!

How is picture quality compared to the R1 release?

Thanks.

I can't say for certain since I got rid of the R1 before I received the Japanese release and never compared them. My best guess is that they are the same transfer. Definitely a worthwhile disc if you love the movie as much as I do.

I have both versions and if you like DTS, then get it. I can't say about the video comparisons. BTW, there are no English subtitles, I believe, on the Japanese version (which may be important to some people).

Check out the 10th Anniversary set coming out in Jpn. Looks awesome but pricey and no DTS.

Agree with Codefree on this one. I think they are the same transfer but the DTS is a more fulfilling audio experience.
