Legend of the Galactic Heroes (the entire saga)
Attack on Titan S3

At some point I'll watch the SAO movie and SAO 2 sequel series. I liked SAO 1 for what it is (a Gary Stu fantasy with an interesting premise), but SAO 2 was a pointless retread. Now it sounds like they're moving away from the murder premise and just focusing on the Gary Stu/Mary Sue aspect, so I'm sure it will be dumb. But I suppose I'll still watch it.

Sword Art Online is a great series. I've written off SAO 2 as a needless sequel that doesn't go anywhere in the direction I wanted.

SAO is a great half of a series. Then they drop the first game out of nowhere, and the second half is just filled with the usual anime tropes/fetishes: tentacles, brocon, fairies, damsels in distress, drooling/rapey bad guy

I thought like that the first time I watched through it, but watching it over again with the English dub changed my mind.

Assuming the English dub didn't change the brocon and Asuna becoming even more of an object than she was before, I'm curious what it did to change your mind about the Alfheim arc.

I remember enjoying it a lot more the second time around. If I remember correctly, the English dub plays down some of the sleazier aspects of Asuna's imprisonment.

After finally watching the first few episodes of Darling in the FranXX, I can see why it has such a following on Reddit. I doubt I'm going to stick with it.

The "Friends" episode of Attack on Titan is easily my favorite of the season thus far.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202, a remake of the Comet Empire series. this one is nowhere near as good as 2199, which was a masterpiece. It's confusing and nonsensical, with Lord Zordar babbling about the need for love, all the while trying to destroy Earth.

I've been watching Goblin Slayer this season. If you can get past the rapey stuff, it's pretty good.

After one episode Goblin Slayer reminds me a lot of Grimgar.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

This season I'm watching:
  • A Certain Magical Index III (FUNimation)
  • Black Clover (FUNimation)
  • Fairy Tail: Final Season (FUNimation)
  • Goblin Slayer (FUNimation)
  • Golden Kamuy 2 (FUNimation)
  • RErideD: Derrida, Who Leaps Through Time (FUNimation)
  • Sword Art Online: Alicization (Crunchyroll)
  • That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (FUNimation)
  • Ulysses: Jeanne d`Arc and the Alchemist Knight (FUNimation)
  • Zombieland Saga (FUNimation)

FUNimation is dubbing pretty much everything I wanted to watch this season.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I have been re-watching a bunch of anime films I have on blu-ray the last few days, out of all of them even the the Studio Ghibli films which I own all of them my Favorite anime film is "Your Name".
Directed by Makoto Shinkai who also made "The Garden of Words" "5 Centimeters per Second" "Children Who Chase Lost Voices" among others.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I can never keep up with new shows, but I just watched all of Overlord, and now I'm going to have to wait a long, long time for more.

I've finally got around to Darling in the Franxx... I'm such a mecha head that I'm pushing through despite the highly questionable premise. But I'll probably be massively disappointed because it doesn't seem like it's held in high regard.

But after that I'll move onto Trigger's new series, SSSS Gridman. As a huge fan of tokusatsu and the original Gridman I'm most looking forward to that.

Your Name is a great movie. It helps if you go into it knowing nothing about the plot.

I haven't caught the second season of Overlord yet, but I loved the first season.

Tried watching SSSS.GRIDMAN but dropped it after 2 episodes. Just another Trigger bomb....
I should probably quit expecting anything good from Trigger.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

This season I am watching:
Edit: I forgot all about another series I like so far.

A Certain Magical Index 3
Senran Kagura Shinovi Master
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
Release the Spyce
Anima Yell!
Goblin Slayer
Boarding School Juliet
Bloom Into You
IRODUKU: The World in Colors

All of them except "IRODUKU: The World in Colors" I could drop without missing them much.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

Index 3 seems to be in a rush, skipping along confusingly. That or I should have really refreshed myself on the past two seasons given the huge time (8 years) between seasons.

Senran Kagura feels rushed also, I was looking forward to this anime the most this season but I didn’t even bother to watch the latest episode yet.

Aww, as I said that's what's up next. I'm curious what you didn't like about it?
