Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?
Found WorldEnd very enjoyable and satisfying, layered with adventure, romance and even slice-of-life touches. Kind of wish it had gotten two seasons because there's enough plot for more. The anime is set up with an interesting premise, five hundred years after waves of "beasts" ravaged the surface world and more or less wiped out humanity. Now animal creatures live on floating island ships in the sky. Extensive worldbuilding for a one season series.

I found WorldEnd to be devoid of character development and lacking in actually building the world. Just fell flat to me.

Apparently there were major creative differences behind the scenes with the director and the animators.

Darling in the Franxx turned out far more interesting than I initially thought - it's one of the few anime I've wanted to immediately rewatch after finishing it off. As you alluded, there's a major change in the final few episodes that almost comes out of nowhere.

It depends on the reasons why you stopped in the first place. The BS with teenaged pilots having to be in coitus positions doesn't go away, though they do try to explain it at least.

Once the whole premise gets laid out, virtually everything has a purpose that makes sense.

Ended up watching the made-for-Netflix anime, B: The Beginning. It comes to Blu-ray next month from Shout Factory in dual editions, including an insanely expensive Ultimate edition. Kind of a cool suspense thriller with fantasy elements, though the visuals are better put together than the messy backstory. Ambitious storytelling, though you get the feeling they bit off more than they could chew with some of the story arcs.
Definitely worth checking out for the action and animation, even if you roll your eyes at some of the plot twists.

B: The Beginning to me felt like it was two separate series in one. You had the detective plot and then the supernatural plot. Both were decent on their own and could've been individual series... but when they merged into one it just went downhill from there. Ended up being a typical average anime and I have no desire to revisit the series if/when additional seasons happen.

It's an interesting watch that some will really like. I'm not sure how much replay value it has and I think Shout Factory priced the Ultimate edition way too high.

I watched The Wonderland film from Eleven Arts the other day, it was an odd story but good. The film didn't really explain what was going on.

I saw The Wonderland for sale the other day at Best Buy and almost picked it up. Looks interesting but I haven't heard much about it.

B: The Beginning was good actually, I would have never seen it without an English dub though. Shout! Factory and Anime Limited new license Bartender doesn't look like it would be getting a dub, I would have to watch an episode before i decide to get it since I don't know anything about it.

Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions may be the dullest isekai anime ever made. I somehow made it through all 12 episodes but the characters are rather blandly constructed. Lots of boring internal monologues from the main protagonist. This is one show in which anything exciting is quickly blunted by emo melodrama. Some fan service or something would have been a welcome respite from its plodding fantasy adventures.

I forgot to mention that Grimgar has some really stunning animation, very high quality for a regular anime on television. They didn't skimp on the production budget. Which unfortunately highlights the limp storytelling all the more because it doesn't match the visuals.
I'm currently finding Armed Girl's Machiavellism a pure delight. It's a breath of fresh air after plowing through Grimgar. Kind of a mix between the harem and fighting genres, but done in a fairly clever manner with a lot of wit and charm. Simple animation and character designs, but the storytelling has a funny edge. The fan service is more for laughs than anything else. Each character's sharply-drawn personality go beyond the usual anime tropes.

Grimgar is one of my FAVORITE anime. It's absolutely stunning (full hand drawn backgrounds is a very rare treat these days)... and I loved that it tried something new (in anime isekai anyways) by not having everyone just OP and actually has risk of death. The characters were all nicely fleshed out too as the series really took it's time building them up so not much ended up progressing on the story front tbh but it was a nice ride and I've been ever hopeful that we'd get another season.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?
Going through My First Girlfriend is a GAL. The first couple of episodes are rough and I suspect many viewers would give up before the show starts getting good. It becomes much more watchable after the rough start, slowly becoming a funny harem comedy with a bit of fan service thrown in. The supporting characters are hilarious.
Probably not worth a blind gamble on a purchase, but if you can catch it for free on streaming worth a look.

I probably enjoyed the second season of Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? more than the first season, which came off as a little half-baked despite the likable characters. No idea what to make of the bizarre OVA included with the Blu-ray set. Some of the strangest "fan service" I've come across, I guess it's a joke on fans.
I wish we had gotten a little more time with new character Haruhime. We also got maybe a peek at Bell's ultimate destiny.

I watched the two films from Eleven Arts this weekend on itunes, Sound! Euphonium: The Movie: Welcome To The Kitauji High School Concert Band and Sound! Euphonium: The Movie: May The Melody Reach You. Hopefully Eleven Arts gives them an English dub before releasing them on blu-ray. They dubbed the other two films Sound! Euphonium: The Movie: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, and Liz and the Blue Bird so I'm not worried.

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle was a lot of fun. I laughed out loud a few times every episode.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear was a disappointment for me. I'm a big fan of the manga. And the light novel is good. But the anime was too different. They breezed through it, skipping storylines and missing a lot of the sarcastic humor. And it looked really cheap. I'm surprised it got a second season. Hopefully that one's better.

By the Grace of the Gods was lame. Another cheap manga adaptation.

I'm looking forward to next season. There's a ton of my favorite shows returning. And some good manga are getting new shows.
Non Non Biyori: Season 3
Laid Back Camp: Season 2
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Season 2
So I'm a Spider, So What?

Finally caught the first cour (anyone else hate this word for some reason?) for Re: Zero - Starting Life In Another World. Not my absolute favorite isekai but I can see why it's popular. Didn't think much of the Japanese dub, I thought it was dull and pedestrian. I liked the premise more than the execution. The first arc does begin great and neatly establishes what kind of world the protagonist has landed in.
