Summer Wars in select theaters this winter

Fresh from the announcement at Anime USA, here are the initial theatrical dates for Summer Wars!

Summer Wars will be playing at the following cities:
  • Dec 3-8 Chicago,IL- Siskel Film Center
  • Dec 10-16 Los Angeles, CA – AMC Covina 30
  • Dec 24-30 San Francisco, CA- Landmark Bridge Theater
  • Dec 29-Jan 4 New York, NY- IFC Center
  • Jan 5-12 Boston, MA- Museum of Fine Arts
  • Jan 7-13 Denver, CO- Starz Film Center
  • Jan 7-13 Santa Fe, NM- CCA Cinematheque
  • Jan 14-20 Los Angeles, CA- Laemmle Sunset
  • Jan 21-27 Philadelphia, PA- Landmark Ritz at the Bourse
  • Jan 23-Feb 3 Honolulu, HI- Academy of Arts,
  • Jan 28-Feb 3 Seattle, WA- Landmark Varsity
In Association withGKids, FUNimation Entertainment is proud to bring Mamoru Hosoda’s visionary film to cities across North America. The film is in contention to be nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 83rd Academy Awards, so get out there and help Summer Wars win an Oscar! For tickets and showtimes, check with each individual theater.

They will be dubbed (as far as I know). They had some subbed screenings last month (and perhaps before).

As crazy as this sounds, I blind bought this today at Best Buy just because of the awesome slip-cover. Hopefully the movies as good as people say.

I was at Best Buy today and saw Summer Wars on blu-ray so I bought it, Summer Wars was pretty cool.

I checked a couple of stores in Manhattan (Best Buy and Kinokuniya) and it wasn't there. My local FYE, in an Outer Borough, had it, so I bought it there. I got the regular DVD, not the Blu-ray, though, 'cause I want to lend it to people and show it in places that don't have Blu-ray.
