Hello everyone,
I'm just back from Japan and still a complete zombie from jetlag, but wanted to let you know that we managed to get the Megazone 23 license expanded to include Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe (excluding Italy). However, we probably won't be able to get additional rights, such as for AU/NZ. : (
While we were in Japan, we also had some great meetings with Mr. Mikimoto and Mr. Miyao, and we are looking forward to their contributions to the project. With the addition of the new territories, we're pretty sure that we'll hit the $200k funding point, which will unlock both the Miyao manga and new Mikimoto artwork stretch goals.
The order buttons on https://animeigo.com/mz23 have been updated to include international ordering options. Have at it!
Natsumi stayed in Japan to visit family, and she also supervised the recording of the commentary track on Friday. According to her, Mr. Miyao and Mr. Sato had a great time chatting about the film and all the people who made it come to life. They also dug up a bunch of production materials which we'll be using to improve the contents of the set, and Mr. Miyao even drew a shikishi for me!

HOUSTON, TX – November 8, 2019 – Sentai Filmworks announced today that it acquired exclusive distribution rights to the feature-length anime film Space Brothers #0, prequel to the anime television series and long-running manga of the same name.
Set four years before the events of the Space Brothers TV series, Space Brothers #0 tells the story of two brothers on disparate paths. Hibito Namba is a rookie astronaut in training while his brother, Mutta, has found his own ambitions at a disappointing standstill. When Hibito is selected to train for a coveted NASA space mission, it sets in motion a series of events that takes the brothers to the crossroads of destiny and dreams.
Hiroaki Hirata (Another, From the New World), KENN (Beyond the Boundary, Parasyte -the maxim-) and Akio Ohtsuka (CANAAN, Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues) reprise their roles as Mutta Namba, Hibito Nanba and Brian Jay, respectively. Ayumu Watanabe (Ace Attorney, If Her Flag Breaks) returns to direct the film while Chuya Koyama, the series’ original creator, is in charge of the screenplay. Koji Yabuno (Kishin Taisen Gigantic Formula, Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison) returns for character design.
The movie will be released on home video and will include both the theatrical and Chuya Koyama Special Edition cuts of the film. This title will be available to stream on select outlets at a later date.

Ayumu Watanabe (Ace Attorney, If Her Flag Breaks) returns to direct the film while Chuya Koyama, the series’ original creator, is in charge of the screenplay. Koji Yabuno (Kishin Taisen Gigantic Formula, Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison) returns for character design.
The movie will be released on home video and will include both the theatrical and Chuya Koyama Special Edition cuts of the film. This title will be available to stream on select outlets at a later date.

Fans attending Anime NYC 2019 will be treated to a special advance screening of the first two episodes of the Magia Record TV anime followed by a talk show with Aoi Yuki (Voice of Madoka Kaname) and President of SHAFT and Animation Producer, Mitsutoshi Kubota!
STORY:
In exchange for the fulfillment of a wish, Magical Girls keep fighting, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
