What's the deal with "Mercyful Fate" by Metallica? Seems people select that song 90% of the time when I play onlline. It's not a bad song at all just really long and it gets old playing it every time.

Oooohkay. So how do I activate Star Power with a Rock Band 2 drum set? I read Yellow/Blue simultaneous, but that sure as hell didn't work out very well. Is that right?

That is correct. You have to do it in between the other notes.

Actually there is some leeway on when your combo will break. Often I'll just do it whenever I see a single yellow or blue (if you need to hit both, then it won't activate). You can miss a note or two before your combo will break immediately after activating it.

Thanks guys. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the different look of the scroll and not being able to activate Star Power pretty much put me over the edge.

Did anyone have any trouble calibrating GH:M? After my calibration, I found that I needed to play way ahead of the chart. I reset, tried the calibration again and got the same delay. I'm thinking about plugging the same numbers into GH:M as I have in Rock Band to see if that fixes the problem.

Has anyone been able to get the expert + on drums achievement without having a double bass pedal? I got 93% on Orion but as soon as the double bass notes came down I was toast. I figured if I had enough star power I could breeze through some of those sections.

Did it on Master of Puppets, it was very easy with only a single pedal.

I played Sad But True on Expert+ without the double pedal (as that song is fairly easy and really has no double bass sections) and didn't get it but I was not using the GH drum kit, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

That is because not every song is available for Expert+. Only songs that actually have double bass in them can be played with that difficulty. They all show up in the list, but only the ones that have the Skull and Drumsticks icon are Expert+'able.

You can definitely get the achievement without the GH kit, since I got it on the ION kit.

How are you liking the Ion kit? I thought you said a few days back that you didn't like the foot pedal. Other than that any issues? Worth the money? Etc.

The pedal is a piece of crap that I replaced with the Rock Pedal a few weeks after I got the ION kit.

I think the kit is awesome, great build quality, and the ability to place everything in the position you want them in is very nice. I love how solid the pads are, I can beat the hell out of it and it continues to be reliable and never drops hits or over hits at all. The cymbals are cool too, but honestly I don't use them too much, except for some easier songs usually.

As to whether or not it is worth the money, that is probably different for every person. I only play drums, and between the cost of the ION kit, the Rock Pedal, and an extra cymbal, I have definitely sunk a lot of money into it. But at that same time, I have tons of DLC and I play RB (or GH: Metallica) on average of an hour a day, so I get a lot of use out of it.

It's posted in the weekly fry's thread in the bargains forum, but if anyone missed it over there, they have GH:M for $35 this week. Cheapest I've seen it.

This is why I'm waiting at least a month after GH:VH comes out to buy it. I figure I'll save at least $15.

I paid full price to get the double pedal, figuring it was worth the extra $15 to $20, but this sale still stings a bit.

I'm definitely going to wait for GH Greatest Hits to go on deep sale, it's definitely not worth $60 for a port of earlier songs.

Will still get GH Greatest Hits on Day 1...I have yet to not get a GH game down to $40 while still buying it on release day.

Anyone who has not purchased it yet, $35 is a no brainer. GH Metallica is an amazing game.
