So, here I am only 4 episodes into the last season of The Wire.
And the rest of your post doesn't warn the reader that you're about to spoil something about the last season of The Wire.
And since I'm in a thread about The Shield and not, say, The Wire, and, ergo, it's easy to assume I'm not going to be spoiled about anything regarding the last 6 episodes of The Wire, I unsuspectingly click it.

In one of the first seasons, didn't we see Vic's first partner. He was retired, family had left, living in a motel, working some lousy job (like security guard or PI).
I think that's how this will end. Vic will be alone, broke, friendless, unemployed, and with nothing to look forward to. But he'll be alive.
I'm guessing the other two will be dead, in jail, or on the run from cops or the mob.
