Goon: Last of the Enforcers (D: Baruchel) S: Seann William Scott
Actor Jay Baruchel will sit behind the camera and make his directorial debut on Goon: Last of the Enforcers, the sequel to the 2011 sports comedy.
Seann William Scott is set to reprise his role as hockey enforcer Doug “the Thug” Glatt in a story that sees his team, the Halifax Highlanders, reunite with a host of new players during a pro lockout.
Baruchel is actually doing triple duty on the movie. In addition to directing, will also act, returning as Glatt’s best friend and confidante. And he also worked on the script, co-writing it with Jesse Chabot.
Production is set to begin June in Toronto.
The film will be produced by David Gross, Jesse Shapira, and Jeff Arkuss of No Trace Camping and André Rouleau of Caramel Films. Evan Goldberg is executive producing.
WME Global is handling domestic rights to the movie.
Baruchel is taking over helming duties from Michael Dowse, who directed Canadian comedies Fubar and It’s All Gone Pete Tong.
Baruchel is known for his voice starring in DreamWorks’ acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon movies and for his comedies, ranging from movies such as This Is the End to television (Judd Apatow’s Undeclared). He now stars in FXX’s comedy Man Seeking Woman, which was recently picked up for a second season.
Baruchel is repped by CAA, Thruline and attorney James Feldman. Scott is repped by ICM Partners, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.

I really liked Goon but a sequel seems unnecessary. It'll be interesting to see what Jay Baruchel's debut will look like though.

The first one was really entertaining, but I don't remember much from it already. I'd watch another.

Loved Goon. I don't think we'd need a sequel though. I'm more interested in what Baruchel's directing would be like.

Elisha Cuthbert has joined the cast of Goon: Last of the Enforcers, the sequel to the 2011 sports comedy that starred Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel.
Baruchel is back as co-writer and actor but this time is also directing. Liev Schreiber and Alison Pill are also reprising their roles from the first movie.
Scott is once again playing playing hockey enforcer Doug “the Thug” Glatt in a story that sees his team, the Halifax Highlanders, reunite with a host of new players during a pro lockout.
Cuthbert will play the outlandish sister of Pill’s character.
David Gross, Jesse Shapira, and Jeff Arkuss are producing. Principal photography is set to begin on June 21 in Toronto.
Cuthbert most recently starred in NBC’s short-lived comedy One Big Happy that was exec produced by Ellen DeGeneres and before that starred for four years on ABC’s hit comedy Happy Endings.
The Goon sequel marks a reunion for Cuthbert with Scott, with whom she starred in the indie dramedy Just Before I Go, directed by Courteney Cox.
She is repped by ICM Partners and John Carrabino Management.

It's also a Popular Mechanics for Kids reunion!
I wonder if this will be awkward for Baruchel and Pill.

The original was one of those films that premiered in very limited release and simultaneously on HDNet movies the same day.

I like Sean William Scott, and welcome any new movie with him in it. Goon was a lot of fun.

Tim Miller is popular now and wants to get it off the ground, so, soon hopefully.

Didn't like this as much as the first one.
Had a feeling going in. Jokes felt a bit flat. For instance that Russian/Ukraine duo on the team weren't nearly as funny this time.
Elisha Cuthbert had a pointless role.
Still glad to have seen it, but it didn't have the magic the first one had.

They went overboard with the bathroom humor and no way would fights be that brutal if they happened in the NHL
Wyatt Russell was great as the bad guy.
