Looks good, but it has been a let down of a franchise for a long time.

Despite its bugginess, I enjoyed Underworld. They just need to incorporate better combat whilst not neglecting the exploration and puzzle solving aspects.

Yes. Yes, she does.
I wonder if they based her on anyone in particular.
Yeah, the trilogy set sounds promising.
Hopefully the remastered versions of Legend and Anniversary are based on their PC counterparts. And hopefully Underworld has its audio fixed (the LFE is way overblown in the current release) and the original ending re-instated (or at least give the current ending better editing instead of an abrupt cut to the end credits).

"We're really excited to be able to offer gamers the chance to play both Legend and Anniversary remastered in high definition on the PlayStation 3," said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. "These are two titles we are extremely proud to have created."

Wasn't Legend a "reboot" of the series as well? Or was it a sequel to one of the games?
And where does Guardian of Light fit in story wise with all of these?

Yes, Legend is a reboot. And Anniversary is remake of Tomb Raider (1996) that retcons certain events/motivations to fit in line with the new continuity and the events that then occur in Underworld. Tomb Raider (2011) seems to be a prequel to those three games. However, I've no idea where Guardian of Light fits in all this, as I've never played that game.

Haven't given GoL a spin yet. I'm looking forward to the new one. I think they reboot it every few years only because Lara doesn't garner the press like she once did. It takes something special, like a reboot, to get people's attention.
And the new Lara model?

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I agree. I think that if they insist on keeping gunplay (and, to a lesser extent, melee combat) as a part of the series, they should take a page from the Uncharted handbook. Not at the expense of the puzzles and traversal gameplay from Underworld, however.

I would not be shocked if this turns out to be Uncharted with a female lead. There's even a QTE in that second screenshot. Of course, Uncharted surely was influenced by TR anyway.

I have that issue and I didn't even realize who she was. I figured it was some new PS3 game. Hell, that's the best she's looked in a long time. I mean she's even hotter than Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Agreed Tomb Raider could learn a lot from Uncharted in terms of story, pacing and combat. But I think Uncharted could learn a lot from Tomb Raider in terms of puzzles and exploration. TR: Underworld had some amazingly creative puzzle solving, and it felt much more open than Uncharted.

Looks interesting. I've always had a hard time getting into the Tomb Raider games, but I'll most-likely give this one a rent. Unless I hear really awful things about it.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I really liked Guardian of Light a lot, and I'm kind of a sucker for Tomb Raider (although Uncharted has stolen a lot of that series' thunder), so I'll be checking this one out for sure, and I'll probably get the trilogy set as well.
