re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I had a weird issue last night. I went to play Mortal Kombat, and it stuck on the title screen. So I switched to the Halo collection, same issue. Switched to Ori, same issue again. I shut the console down with instant on and powered it back up, same problem. I finally had to shut it down without instant on and turn it back on to get any game to work. The only culprit I can think of is I had allowed the system to keep the storage on while the Xbox was off, by default it turns storage off with instant on, so I changed that setting back.

Anyone else encounter anything like this?

Had the same issue with our new X1 just two days ago. I got online and read that many others have had that issue.

I had to shut the X1 down, unplug it and then bot it back up. All the games worked after that.

I think that's happened to me once, where nothing would start up properly and I had to hard unplug it. Since then no issues though.

This was up briefly on Xbox.com earlier today:

Rumor is only those who played Halo: MCC from 11/11/14 - 12/19/14 will get ODST for free, everyone else will have to pay.

I know this is really short notice, but if anyone plans on getting an XO console I have a coupon for a $50 Best Buy giftcard w/ the purchase of an XO console. Only problem is that it has to be used today.

I debated on getting the white console but the coupon would not work on that particular one online and according to their website these are not sold in stores. Plus the fact that Wal-Mart decided to give out free $50 giftcards last week I am going to use it plus a couple of giftcards I have left from MCR to pick up the XO bundle with the bonus controller.

btw, the coupon can be used in store or online.

Alien Isolation $24 with Gold.

New Telltale Game of Thrones bundle for $25 instead of $30.

The internet is already bitching that the dates should be extended due to most getting the game as a Christmas present.

Long story short, the game is still broken. Microsoft should just release it for free to everyone who owns the MCC just to save face. I can actually see Microsoft doing this due to the bitching and moaning that has been going on since that page went up.

The MCC should've been the slam dunk and the killer app for the Xbox One and it ended up being an abortion.

That's great, but still not a rumor. It's the official stance, unless something changes.

What exactly is still broken on the MCC? I've only played offline campaigns so far and it seems fine.

Try playing any of the game online. Co-op or multiplayer. Good luck.

I've played it online a few times decently enough. But hardly to the same extent others seem to with these titles (after a couple rounds I fell asleep holding the controller).

There's been rumors of a new controller being announced at E3, mostly just adding a 3.5mm jack.

not sure if this is an HBO Go thing or XBOX One thing, but is there anyway to not have Go log you off when you turn off XBOX? i am watching Entourage and when i shut down and go back the next day, i am logged out and have no idea where i left off...

does HBO Go remember what episode you were on at least? a queue or something?

thanks.

I don't have that issue with HBO GO. It should be saved. I have to login to these kind of apps every once in a while because of security protocol, but not every time.

And yes, it will remember your last watched show

I'm still trying to talk myself into getting one of these. I have a $300 Costco credit that's burning a hole in my pocket but I just can't see using it for more than a media center and the 360 works well enough for that.
