Black Ops 2 managed to end up #10 on the NPD April software list after it went Backwards Compatible. Pretty impressive

They must have added that in the wake of people who were buying the base and expecting the rest of the games. I'll add it this morning, thanks

Edit: Page, Table, and Spreadsheet updated...weeeeeee....thanks again.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I searched everywhere last night for my code of CoD BOII that came with my spare 360 that I picked up on clearance. I should have just redeemed the damn thing when I got it, but didn't feel the need to since I have the disc version. But now it would be kinda cool just to boot it up time to time on the XB1 without tossing the disc in. Oh well.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I bought Blue Dragon and Ikaruga so far. I realized I already own a lot more of these BC titles then I thought when I went to go buy them

Really tempted to rebuy a few games that I kept around on disc just to get rid of them, like GTA IV or the first Assassin's Creed.

EDIT: Went ahead and bought GTA IV and added Trials HD. I feel like i'll cave and buy a few more things before the sale ends.

I caved and bought three more games before the sale ended. I grabbed Fallout New Vegas, Haunted House, and Capcom Arcade Cabinet.

Edit: I also grabbed Temple Of Osiris and Lego Star Wars from Games With Gold.

I picked up Hexic 2 and Half-Minute Hero.
Eyeing Blue Dragon and Madballs Babo : Invasion. Not sure if Blue Dragon would hold up well ten years on.

Best I can tell, the only way to buy these games with existing Xbox credit is on an actual 360. I had to fire mine up for the first time in like a year to buy those two games.

Sale is still up, but not for long. I believe yesterday was the last day. Almost forgot to buy Symphony of the Night.

June's 2017 Games with Gold lineup for Xbox One includes: Speedrunners and Watch Dogs. Bonus DLC for Phantom Dust on Xbox One as well. For Xbox 360 owners (and through Xbox One backward compatibility), June kicks off with Assassin's Creed III, followed by Dragon Age: Origins.

Watch Dogs I kind of liked, but of course bought over three years ago.
Speedrunners is a debut title, but doesn't look that interesting.

I decided to skip the BC sale. Too much backlog.

I mentioned this when it was announced, but it seems like something good for when you know you have a lot of time that month to play games and/or a title is available that interests you so you could just sign up for a month and play everything you want before cancelling.

Heck, with the 14 day trial there's probably a lot of games folks could knock out right away and cancel before paying anything.

The library is supposed to cycle, with new games added every month and older games occasionally removed.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-game-pass
The Xbox Game Pass catalog will change and evolve over time. In addition to titles entering the catalog every month, titles may also leave the catalog over time as well. Length of participation in Xbox Game Pass will vary on a game-to-game basis. Any time a game is scheduled to leave the catalog, we will make sure that information is available on your Xbox and on Xbox.com.

I have a bad habit of buying games that I don't get around playing for months/years, if at all. For $120/year, I think I could justify this as it's basically just 2.5 new games with GCU. Plus I'm kind of sick of buying retail games just because they're cheaper than digital.

You're comparing it to the price of new games. I don't see any new games on that list.

For $120, you could probably buy 15-20 of those games. I've seen most of them for around $5-$7 each during recent sales.

And a lot of them have already been Games With Gold freebies.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

It's interesting. It might be a good "slow season" type thing. I've got a bunch of those games either from previous sales or GWG, and a lot of them are either not great or are very old (not necessarily that they're bad.) (And that's the same with GWG, of course).

5 bucks a month, no problem, at least for a few months.

Between BC 360 games, GWG, and download deals, I've got almost 100 games on my hard drive and another 50 or so 'to be installed' - and I've purchased less than a dozen disc games.

If they add games a lot that could be nice, especially if they're newer games - but on the other hand, if they delete games in order to free that slot, that could be bad if you're not done with it.

I guess I'll find out, but is the membership Gamertag based or Console based? That is, could my son access the games on the same console, if I got the membership?

I'll try at least the trial. Weekend after next is a wide open weekend, maybe I'll try to knock some stuff out them.

I'll give MS credit for trying different things. I wonder if this would appear more to non-Gold members? What percentage of Xboxers are non-Gold?

That's what I noticed as well. Between PS+ and GWG, I own a good chunk of those games.

Except for the part about me admitting to not "getting around to them for months/years". That's the bad habit: buying new and playing when old. Therefore my math works out because my habit hasn't changed.

None of the games they offer, so far, have me remotely interested in this service. It's like Netflix offering only Green Acres reruns and wine tasting documentaries when House of Cards is right over there for a few $ more.
