I hope more people discover Soul Suspect.

I was going to get Soul Suspect and Thief for that price, but it is showing the regular price for all 3 games as $19.99... so, no rush now.

I am pretty sure that they do. It is definitely worth a call to Sony Support.

No that's a quirk with the store. They're showing the discount of the PS Plus price versus the regular sale price of non-Plus cutomers. The actual PSN Store prices of those two games are $59.99 and $49.99 respectively.

Excellent! I was waiting for $20 for these 2 games... now just need the Transformers and Amazing Spiderman games to be $20.

  • Remove board
  • Inspect front of board where power button hits
  • Inspect all buttons inside face

If you have a second controller, swap in the other battery as a troubleshooting test.

After that, I've got nothing, except that you should send me your man card. Don't worry, I already have Decker's.

Seriously, hope you find the problem, but there's honestly not much you could have messed up in there as long as you were gentle.
Looking at it, it seems like the ribbon to the touch pad got a little bent on the sides, but otherwise it should be working. There's a local video game repair place that's meant to be good, so I might take it there.

Sorry to hear that SM. Wish I could be there to take a look. Feel a little bad for contributing to you doing it.

But you're actually the first I've heard of having a problem with the mod, either here or on GAF/youtube.

On my first one, I accidentally unplugged the touchpad cable from the touchpad side, and it still powered up fine. It's not that. I really think the only thing it could be is the battery/connection to battery.

I still haven't taken mine apart. I got both the aluminum and the One sticks. Not sure which I want to use.

With the broken one, one other possibility I can imagine is that the power button isn't making a proper connection when pushed. If that were the case then the light should come on if the controller is connected for charging.

Yeah, I tried to charge it and nothing doing. It seems completely dead.

If you're even remotely technically/mechanically inclined, I can't imagine what you could have done wrong.

I still think it has to be the battery or the battery wire. Nothing else should do what you're describing.

Assuming you only have one controller?

Yeah, just the one. It even turned on as I was opening it, so it worked before I finished.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Was hoping you had two so you could try another battery.

Did you disassemble and inspect everything down to individual buttons? Looked at the motherboard where the power button connects?

Maybe for grins you could hold down the reset button on the battery tray?

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I did the reset button. I looked at everything and didn't see any issues, but I may have another look when I have the time (which may not be for a few days).

I didn't think to ask...did you try it wired to the PS4?

You can get a new black PS4 controller from Buy/Rakuten for $35 no tax, free shipping.

Use promo code VISACHECKOUT10 to save $10 off a purchase of $30 or more. Can also be used on other items instead. Need to use visa checkout to qualify for code (but visa CC not needed.)

Just in case, you know, anyone needs a new controller.

Nice, thanks!

And yes, I did plug it into the console. Nada.

n00b!

Take it apart again and look... if you took the battery out at all, make sure it is connected correctly... etc.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I did notice the thin plastic sheet that sits on top of the motherboard came a bit loose, but I assumed that it sat flat again when pressed against the inside of the controller.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Yeah, that's normal, unless you didn't get it back in place properly. It's really a pretty tough process to mess up.

I did notice the tiniest bit of "play" in the Xbone sticks today...as if the female part of the stick is a bit wider than the DS4 male part. Thinking I might have to open up the controller and shim it with something...maybe a tiny sliver of electrical tape on each end of the DS4 male part. I only notice the play in Destiny where the run button is the directional button, so you're always pressing it in while the stick is at full tilt (side note: Seriously Bungie, no custom controls?)

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Destiny: PS4’s Biggest Software Launch Yet

Adam Boyes

What a week! Since Destiny launched one week ago, it has officially become the biggest PS4 game launch in North America ever. The game broke records for being the fastest purchased and most played PS4 game during its first week on sale. In fact, last week was our single biggest PS4 hardware sales week since Christmas 2013! That’s a lot of PS4s. Thanks, Guardians!

Destiny also racked up some impressive gameplay stats, with PS4 players across North America collectively accumulating more than 11 million gameplay sessions – that’s a lot of Guardians! Destiny players have also made full use of PS4’s social features; it was the most shared and most broadcasted PS4 game during its first week on sale.
From everyone at PlayStation, we want to say thank you to the fans – none of this would be possible without you! If you’re like me you have been up until the wee hours of the morning playing ‘just one more match’ with your Fireteam (I’m still trying to get to 26 with my Warlock to prep for Vault of Glass!).

Luckily, the Destiny journey has only just begun. New events are scheduled throughout the next few months, and upcoming expansions including “The Dark Below” and “House of Wolves” are in the works. Each expansion will provide brand-new story missions, cooperative and competitive Crucible arenas, and a wealth of all-new weapons, armor, and gear to earn (hopefully some legendary engrams!). Of course each will have more PlayStation exclusive content. We’re looking forward to giving you more details soon.

Partnering with Bungie and Activision on Destiny has been a dream come true. See you in the Crucible where you probably just killed me as a BladeDancer… or in the Tower where I will be dancing on the Post Office.

When I finally take the controller apart, I've been considering putting a piece of tape over pin 14 on the ribbon cable. Deactivates the blue LED.

It was by no means a great game. But it was a good interactive adventure. If it was launched at a bargain price it would've made more sense though. I imagine alot of people will pick it up via Amazon around the holidays when it drops to $14.99 - $19.99. Personally, I picked it up at $29.99 and still felt like it was a little too high.

I'll add it to my Gamefly rental Q. Sounds perfect for a one-week rental.

Definitely. You'll breeze through it in two or three sittings. But it is satisfying and the story is a lot stronger than the previews made it out to be.
