Yeah, I put a 1TB SSHD into the PS4 yesterday and didn't realize I was supposed to do a backup I mean it makes sense but it just didn't cross my mind.

Downloaded the PS4 system file (about 750mb) and did a full re-install instead (didn't realize Bloodborne had a new 9gb patch).

The online Saves back-ups worked well, but I wish there was just an "import all" button on that thing.

Yeah, I'll be swapping out my HDD too once it comes in the mail. I think today or tomorrow. Also bought the 2TB Seagate at Best Buy on BF. Not looking forward to re-downloading everything.

Then don't. Back it up to a USB drive.

But don't I still have to re-download game updates and digital only games? USB backup is for game saves?

nope, they added that functionality in a big firmware update this year. Works just like the PS3 now.

Cool, thanks! Just don't know if I have a large enough flash or external drive.

Just be prepared in case the backup/restore fails. Everything is put into an archive rather than simply copied over. PS4 seems to do nothing to verify the integrity of the archive. You won't know if it has failed until you actually attempt to restore.

My screenshots are gone. My saves are backed up with Plus, but you can't download a save unless the game is installed.

Any word when PS Vue will hit more markets? Seems like the roll-out for it is running at a snails pace.

I swapped out a 1TB drive for the 2TB Seagate drive yesterday, and luckily the Backup and Restore seems to have worked for me. I deleted some games I own discs for to get down to 500GB, and then backed up to a 500GB USB drive. It took about 4 hours to save it all and then about another 4 hours to get it all on the new drive. With a 5.0 MPS download speed and a 150 GB data cap, this backup feature is a godsend for me.

Crossing fingers for Bloodborne tonight in the 2015 Video Game Awards. They are in three catagories......Game of the Year, Best Art direction and Best Role Playing....however Fallout 4 is in two of those as well. And Sony has 4 of the 5 Nominees in Most Anticipated Game with...No Man's Sky, Horizon Dawn, Uncharted 4 and The Last Guardian....Sony & PS4 looking pretty good!

At the official game site they have trailers for all the nominees and this is the one Bloodborne has...it's just badas#.....

Neither Fallout 4 nor Bloodborne is a real RPG so I think Witcher 3 will take that one.

It was a night of upgrades as I did mine too. Had a little trouble getting the external hdd out of its enclosure without scratching it up but everything else was as smooth as butter. I did the backup/restore too but unchecked applications as I did not have a spare external to use. At least this way, it was easy to transfer my saves back. Now, I'm only downloading games and apps I know I'll be using and will add the others when I feel the need to play/use them.

Yeah, I've played them all, as as an RPG, W3 wipes it's ass with the other two.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Just signed up for high speed internet after almost a year of tethering to my phone. It was a looooong and painful process of downloading updates, demos and games like that.

Now I am trying to figure out if I should get Star Wars: Battlefront or Rainbow Six: Siege. I'm a big Star Wars geek but I fucking love terrorist hunt.

Get Rainbow Six and we will do some Terrorist Hunts. Probably played 200 hours of those on Vegas 2.

One of the best games I played awhile back on the 360. Great blend of stealth and action and the co-op was just outright fun to play. Not much on the MP but co-op and that Terrorist Hunt/Horde mode they had ...that was something and not a push over.

Fan Favorite PS2 Games Launching on PS4 Tomorrow

Posted by Shuhei Yoshida on Dec 04, 2015 // President, SCE Worldwide Studios

Hello everyone. As we continue our celebration of the PlayStation 20th anniversary, we want to take a look back at the heritage that helped propel us to the brand that we are today. PlayStation 2 holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers who have fond memories of playing some of the biggest franchises in gaming.

PS2 remains the best-selling console of all time, thanks in part to the revolutionary tech built into the box, such as support for the DVD format for games and movies, a powerful graphics processor, and specialized chips for particle effects and physics. Above and beyond the technical innovations that made PS2 stand apart is the huge catalog of amazing and much loved games, such as Dark Cloud, Twisted Metal: Black, and the PS2-era classic Grand Theft Auto games, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, just to name a few.

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mwL2hSXX-z0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

To celebrate our PS2 heritage, I’m excited to announce that starting tomorrow, you will be able to purchase and play PS2 games on your PS4 via PlayStation Store in the Americas and Europe.

We are getting things started with a bang by launching with eight fan favorites tomorrow:

Dark Cloud — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto III — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — $14.99
Rogue Galaxy — $14.99
The Mark of Kri — $14.99
Twisted Metal: Black — $9.99
War of the Monsters — $9.99

Having these titles available on PS4 is already incredibly exciting for us, but we did not stop there. We have brought these titles forward to meet today’s gaming standards by adding Trophy support! Each title’s Trophy set has been carefully developed in conjunction with feedback from the original creators to be sure that they capture the spirit and feeling of each game.

Also, you will be able to experience all of these PS2 games like never before — in up-rendered 1080p with the features you expect from a PS4 game including Remote Play, Live Broadcast, Share Play, Activity Feeds, and Second Screen support for game manuals with PlayStation Vita or PlayStation App.

And if you’re attending PlayStation Experience in San Francisco this weekend, you’ll be able to play these PS2 games on PS4 at the show floor:

Dark Cloud
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
PaRappa the Rapper 2 (coming soon)
Rogue Galaxy
The King of Fighters 2000 (coming soon)
The Mark of Kri
War of the Monsters

We will be working tirelessly to bring you your favorite PS2 games with new releases on a regular basis, and we hope you love playing PS2 games on PS4 as much as we did making them! So tell us, what PS2 games do you want to play on your PS4?

Long live PlayStation!

Yeah, it seems if I already own a digital copy of GTA SA, I really shouldn't have to re-buy it. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow...

I love Rogue Galaxy (and Dark Cloud II, not 1) but I still wouldn't pay 15 bucks to play it on my PS4...

Okay, what the fuck!

I have over 30 gigs free on my PS4 hard-drive, but it's telling me I don't have enough space for a 2gig patch. What in the actual fuck is going on?
