Notable quotes from the Polygon review. http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/18/51...ising-3-review
Dead Rising 3 is an impressive technical achievement for the brand-new Xbox One.
A sprawling, open-world action-horror game, it soars when it allows players the freedom to explore and wreak havoc in its zombie-infested city. But Dead Rising 3 also suffers from clumsy mechanical execution and stale writing better left to the last generation.

The most memorable moments in the game occurred when I ran off the beaten path to find hidden Frank West statues, fight optional boss battles, or simply see how many zombies I could run over in a stolen car. The scale of the world is impressive, and the sheer number of enemies moving onscreen at any given time is enough to give zombie-survival fantasists dreams for years to come.
Playing Dead Rising 3 can be a schizophrenic experience — I was angry at the game whenever it required precision from me — precision that the controls just wouldn’t support. But I was thoroughly enjoying myself whenever it let me run amok and get creative with weapons and vehicles. It’s a game with great ideas and intermittently poor execution.

Sounds good. It's the only launch title I have any interest in, but not enough to grab an Xbox One at launch.
Very glad to hear they got rid of the timer.

Yep, removing the timer is why this one is so high on my list. I've tried to play the original Dead Rising several times over the years and just can't get into it because of that.

Awesome. Pretty much what I was expecting regarding the reviews. No timer makes it even that much better.

There are rumors floating around about a day one patch to stabilize the framerate.

Kotaku, Eurogamer, Joystiq, Gamespot, NowGamer, and IGN made it a point to complain about slowdown/framerate issues in their reviews this morning. IGN says "it suffers from regular framerate stutters", Gamespot says "Dead Rising 3's frame rate is extremely choppy", NowGamer says "it doesn’t help that Dead Rising 3 suffers from framerate problems, and they’re not that rare either", and Joystiq reports "the frame rate takes a substantial hit during the more zombie-packed segments – and even during some cutscenes." Hopefully it's a moot point if the rumors pan out about the patch, though.

Sounds like they went too far with the Dark and gritty that strays too far from the previous games:

Still looks like a blast to play.
