So that means there were talks of a PS4 port at some point, but EA recently made the deal with MS for full exclusivity for Titanfall. Vince has also been very clear that Titanfall 2 will not be exclusive (unless, y'know, $$$).

Whatever. I just hope the game is as awesome as it looks.
Well that sucks. Guess I won't be getting a next gen system at all.

My favorite part of this news was reading NeoGAF's reaction. Desperation and denial was evident in at least 99% of the posts. Talk of conspiracy theories, talk of getting around the exclusivity via technicalities like an "inevitable" GOTY edition for PS4, etc. And that was just the first page of the thread, which was as far as I read.

But yeah, exclusivity sorta sucks.

I didn't know people cared THAT much about it. I thought it was sort of a "wink wink, nudge nudge" that Titanfall would stay on the One, and Titanfall 2 would more than likely be multi-console.

I think it's fine, it just means Titanfall 2 will probably be out faster than most normal sequels.

Or, with the power of SkyClouds365(tm), Titanfall 1 will be expanded multiple times throughout its lifetime, and we won't see Titanfall 2 for three or four years. It all depends on what the agreement with MS is.
It's easy to speculate one way or the other, but I only hope that Titanfall 1 gets the support it needs from its developers to be great, unlike other multiplayer games that may get released and then pretty much ignored. If Titanfall 1 sucks in terms of support from Respawn, then there's less reason to expect Titanfall 2 to be worth buying down the road.

Oh yeah that was fun.

It ranged from 'We didn't want it anyways' to 'I'm getting it for the PC now, no loss (Where did this resurgence of PC players come from? lol).

Just remember how GAF thinks. Microsoft solves problems with money, because they're greedy and want to make money. Sony solves problems with love.

that sure sounds like EA to dedicate resources and multiple years to expanding existing games, rather than rushing out a yearly sequel for immediate cash...

I thought the plan for Titanfall was to alternate it with Battlefield, now that they've shot Medal of Honor in the head.

The sad face from Vince makes me think they were probably already tinkering with Sony ports and had dev kits in house.

For people who don't buy an Xbox One this year, but still haven't fed their 360 to the pigs...this will be coming out on that platform. Hopefully it's a decent port.

I'm not saying that's what's happening. You're more likely right than I am, I'm sure.
But you have to wonder... if MS paid a large amount of green bills to EA for exclusivity to the "life of the title", don't you think it's in MS's best interest to keep that single title alive for as long as possible? They could have a plan for funding Respawn's ability to add expansion packs and graphical updates for years. It's MS, so I highly doubt they're thinking that way, but it would be an interesting way to deal with a single title. It could be like the WoW or Sims model, but for a FPS.

I don't think that'll actually happen with Titanfall, but I think it'd be pretty awesome if there was a single AAA FPS title released within the next 12 months that was treated as an ongoing release, and not abandoned because of another project after 12 months. That's something MS hinted at pretty heavily at E3 with the "always on" and "perpetually changing worlds" stuff, but they haven't talked about it since the big reversal post-E3.

Anyone else call the number? It mentions a beta test program which is "filling up fast".

Picking this up at Best Buy with the 20% gamer discount. The statue and extras definitely look like they're worth the $140.
