You could go ridiculous with this strategy. Send in a 2-heart low-power Superhero and let him lose. Then spend two bandaids to resurrect him and send him in again. You can do this for as long as you like or until you run out of bandaids.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I've tried the losing strategy a bit, though my problem is that I haven't been keeping up with my fights and constantly have a backlog.
Act 1 ends soon, but TSTO Addicts says trading cards will be used for the other acts as well. If that's the case, we don't need to use them all on band-aids or whatever. Fortunately they fixed the prices so now band-aids are cheaper in large quantities than small (now 20, then 18 and 17).
Got cocky and tried to play the Maggie game with a podcast playing. I got her with three seconds to spare.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
It seems the prizes are easier to get, the main prizes. I'll get the final prize today. For the trading card prizes, is there anything really special there? something with a lot of XP or something like that.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I think I'm going to have to let this event go. I was out of town and unavailable to tap for nearly two weeks in a row. Then my phone did that thing where there wasn't enough space to update even though there's plenty of space. And then my phone got wet and when I took it apart my SD card popped out and boom, it's gone. Plus, while the phone boots up, it won't charge, so it's on rice for a couple days. Yeah, I'll get back into Tapped Out once the phone is back to normal but I'm glad I'm okay with missing so much of the event. There was a time when I would have been pretty upset, but these days, well, that's the way it goes.
I still really enjoy the game and The Simpsons is still my favorite show. I'll be back soon.

^ correct.
The other three limited-time items from Act 1 are just decorations. I would recommend that, unless you particularly dig one/all of them, you pass. The currency used to get them (cards) will carry over to Acts 2 and 3, and there will be a limited time character combo on 7/14 that will cost 4000 cards.
The brass knuckles go away when Act 1 ends. If you've already progressed through the 7th prize (King Coal), the only other reason to collect knuckles is to get a shot at Bonuts. You need 10,000 knuckles to get 1-3 Bonuts. If you don't already have 6,000 or so, you probably won't get to 10k by 3am ET in the morning. My recommendation in that case is to go ahead and tap on Orphan Alley every time criminals are ready to spawn, but just let them walk around your town until tomorrow hits. You can kill them off for the Act 2 currency then rather than kill them off for (useless) Act 1 currency now. If you *are* close enough to 10K, then go ahead and kill them off.

Is it just me, or are the gangs nearly always unbalanced now? I have five roaming around now, and none of them has a muscle guy. Granted, I tend to attack those first because I'm always backed up with tech fighters.
This morning I was at 4500 knuckles so I decided to go ahead and shoot for the bonuts. Currently at 8000 and counting.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
So far the act 2 prizes look more interesting than act 1, but we'll see.
Now that I'm consistently fighting three neighbors a day, I'm perpetually three behind the social-prize calendar.

FYI, there's a July 4 mini event and the social tasks (fighting heroes in friends' towns) have been significantly rebalanced -- you will need a lot fewer than 120 to collect all 10 prizes. I'm guessing 60-75 over the course of the event? So you still need to be reasonably diligent, but it's no longer the case that missing a single day will screw you out of the last prize.
Edit: I'm seeing reports online that you need 56 neighbor battles for the final prize.

I just got a pop up notification that I've exceeded 5500 decorations and buildings and that performance of the game will suffer. Anyone else get that?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got that a while back and got rid of my forest and most of the Springfield Heights buildings. That solved it.
I'm sure I'm close again, though.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I crafted the rest of the Act 2 items. The Zenith City buildings generate revenue so they're the most useful. The billboard changes so that's kind of cool. The snake in the tree... eh. Maybe if you like it from the show. The Aqua World Wharf looks pretty much the same as the Aqua World Guard Tower. Unlike Act 1, you can craft multiples, but the only ones I'd consider would be the buildings. I was hoping the billboard would be a multiplier, but no. I might just get one more building pack and save the rest for Act 3.

I just earned the last Act 2 prize and am working on bonuts. The threshold has increased from 10K to 12K for Act 2, but fortunately we now have the factory generating nine units every eight hours.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The Olympics mini-event was really quick to finish, but it finally ends today. I did pick up Lugash to help with it, and I bought the Cristo of Springfield just because I liked it. The 2.5% multiplier was OK, and it was after I was done with the ribbons it generated, but that did turn into generating currency, so that's something. I also splurged on a couple of the world flag packs, which I hadn't gotten before, but those are 7.5% multipliers for 50 donuts. That depleted most of my donut stash, but they accumulate quickly, plus I'm about due to use the XP multiplier again to restock.

Ooh, I see President Lisa and Adult Loser Bart in the new characters list. Plus, Stephen Hawking! This event proves promising!
