Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Now that I have tougher hull armor and mortar, I should be able to take out the larger ships which have more supplies on hand. I have 42000 R currently.. but need about 500 more wood and 300 more metal, I believe, to get the elite hull. I've found all the elite ship bits, I think..

I also completed every underwater wreck... those were awful..... Stupid sharks and eels..... and the couple that had a hideout that you find and don't have any weapons or things with you... had to redo one of them a couple times because I got swarmed by enemies before I could pick up one of their weapons.

Yeah.. I think I've got most or all of those... I'll have to check my achievements as I think there are achievements tied to those things.

I can't figure out how to see my achievements on xbox.com.. I'll have to wait until I'm at home and can look on my XB1.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Thanks to whoever else was speeding up ships this weekend. It took me a while to figure out where that option on the fleet menu was, but I played a bunch this weekend and gave boosts to two dozen or so that I saw. Also, if anyone else isn't doing that, it's worth noting that you get rewarded for it with fire barrels, which come in handy for some of the tougher battles to clear a trade route.

Whenever I get to that point in the game where it unlocks it, then I will do the same.

I was a clearing maniac this weekend. I was surprised when you speed up a ship it rarely completes the trip. Usually kills a few hours though. It's very simple to do as well so no reason not to help people. You can only help each ship once.

Also any tips for the swimming? I hate underwater levels, and this game is no exception. I can never swim in the direction that I want to swim. How to consistently swim straight forward would be nice.

I do all of the steering with the right stick. All I do with the left stick is push it straight ahead when I want to swim (in conjunction with the right trigger when I was to swim fast). I was trying to use both simultaneously for my steering at first and it gave me a terrible time, but it's pretty easy now.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Anyone have this in their game?

I have two treasure maps that give locations where there appear to be nothing.

One is 502,44. The other is 992, 422.

Unless they are for areas that I don't find out about until later? But I assume I'm fairly close to the end of the story line. Though not sure as I've done a lot of side mission stuff.. just did the last assassin's contract.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I kept looking for people to speed up then realized it was only in the game, not the app. So apologies for not helping anyone out. (I was helped a lot in the last week).

I did go in last night and sped up about a dozen ships. Not sure if they were all from the same place or not. In a few days I will probably have about 200,000R which will be enough to upgrade everything. I already have the expensive art, costume, decorations, and hideout upgrades.

Played MP for the first time. It's fun but I wish I had started sooner. It will be a long slog to 55.

And the companion app is only for tablets (I believe iPad, Android, and some Windows ones).

There is one for the iphone too.

Does anyone know if the collectables you unlock during the fleet missions or the art you can purchase do anything? Are visible in the game anywhere?

The game ends rather abruptly. I thought I was just just watching another cutscene when the credits started rolling.

Yep, loved this one. Close to being my favorite of the entire series. Glad I took a chance on it after swearing off all ACs again after III. Even though I don't have it any more I'm thinking of renting it to play the new DLC that's coming out.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Was 3 really that bad? I had 2 separate friends tell me they loved it. What made it so much worse than other games in the franchise?

Also, I agree. The story is incredibly deep in this game. All the easter eggs, and secret messages, and references make it way fun to get the collectibles.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I have a question concerning the Market Analysis files from the hacked computers. I guess I'll spoiler.

Spoiler:
I recognized the main character from AC1 as being a failed idea for a "property" and I also recognized the Italian guy from whichever game he was from. Were the other characters from properties too, including the female at the end?

Well
Spoiler:
Conner was from AC3. The girl they kept talking about was from Liberation I think.

I have no idea where Edward's daughter came from. But I never finished AC3 so I'm not sure if she was mentioned.

I finished the game, and the last level sucked major, major, major, major ass. So you see
Spoiler:
Torres and he's in range for you to shoot him, but no, first you have to go on this elaborate climbing spree with timed traps, and assassinate him at the perfect time.
Give me a break.

A little spoiler concerning that last level.

Spoiler:
My game actually glitched on that last section. My air assassination absolutely would not work, and I couldn't progress. He would just stand next to Torres and I couldn't hit him. Looked it up online, and apparently it's not so rare a glitch. A workaround that people used, and that worked for me was that I run and tackle him, then I can use my swords and kill him. Kind of a buzzkill though because I love a good air assasination.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Hey guys am I missing something? I just finished the
Spoiler:
assassin mission with the sleeping and beserk darts
and now the yellow mission symbol is on my boat but not at the captains room. I go in the room and can send my fleet on missions?

Where do I to next?

It also could mean he is in one of those sections you have to leave the sea for, and it's saying to go to regular areas I believe.

This happens in later levels as well. When in doubt, go out to sea.
