Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Collection (Wii... WHAT?!)

So it's DQ 1-3 in two flavors each. Neat! Can't, for the life of me, figure out why this isn't coming to (3)DS to nearly complete the collection. I guess with DQX still heading to the Wii, it makes a little sense. If Cafe/Feel/Wii2 isn't backwards-compatible, it's for naught.
Just in case Twitter wasn't good enough, Square Enix has made an even more formal announcement of Famicom & Super Famicom Dragon Quest I, II and III, sending out a press release and even posting notice at the Dragon Quest official site.
The details are unchanged from earlier. This Wii collection includes five past titles on one disk: Dragon Quest (Famicom), Dragon Quest 2 (Famicom), Dragon Quest 3 (Famicom), Dragon Quest 1&2 (Super Famicom) and Dragon Quest 3 (Super Famicom). The games are just the original versions running on Wii. They can be played with Wiimote, Classic Controller/Pro and the Game Cube controller.
A release for the collection is set at September. Pricing has yet to be announced.
This Wii title is being released as a commemorative 25th anniversary title for the Dragon Quest series, which, according to Square Enix, has sold 57 million units as of December 2010 (package titles only). Square Enix says to expect a variety of developments for the anniversary. A special site for the anniversary will be opening shortly.

Oh, just wanted to point out that as stand-alone VC titles, these would add up to about $30, if you double-dipped on the SFC versions. But doing that you'd have this weird sense of convenience from launching without a disc and, in a perfect world, you'd be able to sync your library with your portable DS for gaming on the go. But that's the stuff of fairy tales and dreamers.

Not confirmed for a US release. It's probably ROMs on an emulator (ala FF Chronicles / Collection for PS1). And since they have never been translated (except fan translations) our odds of getting it is pretty low.

I'm sure a disc with ROMs can leverage the built-in VC emulators. It might be the only deal Nintendo could have made with S-E on these titles.
If it doesn't get a domestic release, I won't be too upset since playing on the Wii itself is less than ideal.

I guess Square-Enix saw how Nintendo made out with their Super Mario All-Stars disc and decided they had to follow suit.
