Well, silly me. I should have realized existing mods wouldn't work. This is a no-go for me without SkyUI and SKSE at a minimum.

I mean, retailer exclusives used to be extras to get people to go to your store. Now that they're charging extra for what is essentially packaging and trinkets, why bother going to the store if you have to pay extra?
Having said that, it looks rather limited, only 2 (of each version) per store.

Anyone getting this for PS4? I know enabling mods usually disables trophies. Just wondering if there are any mods available that still allow trophies to be earned.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I am picking it up for PS4 in about an hours time (along with Titanfall 2). I have never seen the big deal about trophies. When I play a game I play it to beat it, getting trophies never comes into it. Only if I open perks or new content do I pay any attention to trophies. I was happy to see the God Armor mod for PS4 as it means I can play the game through my third time and this time just have fun with it and not play it seriously.

Ok, my memories are coming back. this is basically a remastered version of the title. Fuck it, why not? I remember it well for the PS3 a few years ago.

I think they buried the lead here... at least for PC. The big news is greatly enhanced stability. The 64 bit engine allows more memory usage and IMO, is what Skyrim always should have been.
Now I REALLY hope SkyUI gets updated. Tried it, and I just can't tolerate the clunky vanilla inventory system.

Yeah, played a bit (PS4). It's definitely more stable. The big upgrades are 1080p and a rock solid 30fps. The textures are improved, but not by much. The biggest, most noticeable graphical upgrades are the lighting and weather.

Yep, played for a couple of hours today and concur that graphics generally look nicer (the snow effects were really nice this time around) the god ray lighting is very nice indeed. Moves a lot nicer, much more stable and load times are vastly improved. Also nice to see a good amount of mods available out of the gate. Even after 4-5 years since I last played this it comes back to me quick and surprised how much I remember replaying it. It's still a great game and anyone who hasn't played it before it should be considered an essential purchase. For any already familiar I would say it's worth it, but maybe wait for a price drop if you already have the old version.

Played a little bit last night and it hasn't fully come back to me yet but I do remember some of it. I created a high elf woman and that's who I'm playing with. I'm at the beginning - the town of river-something.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Did you download any Mods Blu? Nice to see a reasonable amount available ad some interesting ones. A lot of small bothersome things cleared up (too many clouds on the map at times is a nice example).
One thing i always take from these remasters is just how damn good they were on the old PS3 in the first place. Its great to play them again all cleaned up, but it shows how much effort was put into them in the first place. I know the PS3 version of this game had problems that took a long time to sort out, but it really was a great looking game for the time.
Oh, and i already adopted a kid last night. The last time i played i remember not adopting a kid until i had put well over a hundred hours into the game.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I tried to look at the available mods, and it said I had to sign into Bethesda, but I couldn't (through my PS4). Is that the only way to access mods - I don't really feel like creating YET another account with YET another online entity - it's fucking endless! Why can't they just let me look at the mod list through my PS4's account?

Yeah you have to sign up for a Bethesda account in order to download Mods. I feel you on the pain it is to have to create new accounts for stuff like this. On the bright side the mods are all small and take little time to actually download.

I never though played the DLC... and supposedly there is a way you can build and design your own home? Any idea where?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Yeah i played through the original release and also picked up the Legendary edition for PS3 and that allowed the player to build their own place. I cannot recall the name of the exact spots, but they tend to be in the middle of nowhere. One was by a road in a forest type area and i recall another being on the side of a mountain (snow area if i remember correctly). The player can put up walls, add rooms, furniture and decorations....etc. They each have close to them areas that can be mined for clay and what not as well i remember. Make sure to have lots of wood as well. There are chests next to each home that allow you to store all your materials which is good.
And the DLC for the games was rather excellent. I liked the worlds that were added on and the adventures included were well done. Well worth playing through.

You can buy land in three different holds after becoming thane of the hold... Google "Hearthfire". There are also numerous mods (PC) that "improve" the DLC.

No mods yet. Setting up an account with Bethesda is a pain. Ain't nobody got time for that.
