Oh, man, I think I'm going to like this ESPN3 implementation.
Any questions? |

Does the shit refresh quicker - like game library, etc?
How does the navigation feel? Slow? Fast? What's for dinner? How's the quality of the ESPN action?

So no live events are being shown, correct?

Right off the top, don't think I like the "flat" look, especially for my friends list, since you can't see more than two or three of them at the time.

2) Fast, but I don't like the flat look. The bumpers are pointless now. They skip 3 spaces and it's slow, you can stick or d-pad over much quicker. Lame change. 3) http://www.whatthefuckshouldimakefordinner.com 4) Surprisingly good! I fired up an on-demand ep of WSOP and it looked great. Not currently. I do plan to watch the TA&M@OkSt game tomorrow evening, however. You can mark sports as your favorite and have a list of events in that category. A ton of sports and organizations/groupings are in there. Even L&O's favorite, the KHL. |

I know you can't Party-chat with folks not on the update preview, but you can still send them chat invites and talk to them, right?

They've only ever said party chat. I would assume that means that chat channels are unaffected, but who knows? Maybe they killed those, I haven't checked.

Geez, did they hire Creature to do the redesign because it sure looks like the same lame stuff they did to re-brand Seattle's Best Coffee.

You can do regular chat just not party.

I hate the fact that they moved quick launch over from the center guide blade.

ah finally, just turned my xbox on and I got the update! Only thing that doesnt work now is any avatar awards. Hope they work in the future. the helmets unlocked from Halo Reach dont work with the new avatars at least for now.

I really don't like the white. Anyone find a way to change the color?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
After messing around with it I love it. I like the flat hard edged look. the ESPN feature is pretty awesome, great quality and tons of content, right now there are a few live games, a soccer match, the giants game and I think something else. Really cool presentation though. I love how you vote who you think is going to win as its buffering and then it shows the results with your avatar and others based on how you voted.
the search feature on netflix is awesome very fast and smooth. New look is nice too. Everything is faster and smoother, very nice. Though its a bummer the avatar awards I have unlocked in different games dont work right now though.

Seems that awards, and paid items just show as exclamation mark icons in the closet. I can confirm that even though my avatar was wearing different items on my 360, my daughter was still seeing my regular outfit on her 360 (not part of the preview).

Yeah, I like the new features.
I tried to watch the Giants game, I live in the SF Bay Area, and I wasn't allowed. So, some of those blackout rules still apply. In fact the game wasn't even showing in ESPN, in regular cable, it was showing in Comcast Sports (?) only.

Isn't that exactly why it would be blacked-out? If ESPN doesn't have rights to air it, then they won't.

Has anyone found a way to resume an ESPN replay after you leave it? As far as I can tell, it restarts every time

If anybody is looking for a new Xbox 250gb Slim and wants a good deal, keep an eye on Warehouse Deals (or the Used - Prime Shipping option on Amazon). In the past 24 hours they've had probably 20+ very good to like new systems going on average from $208.99 to $221.99 with one as low as $197.99.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I've heard people saying you can't do regular chat either or listen to voice messages from those NOT in the preview. The Preview bunch updated to a different audio codec (errr...something) but in-game chat still works.
![]() Not in the Preview myself. Edit: Perhaps one can confirm by going into their INBOX and playing an old VOICE message. |
