Re: Borderlands
What seems to be a major oversight in the game is how the vehicles can take very little punishment on the 2nd playthrough. Everyone's stats are raised on the 2nd playthrough, player and enemies, but the vehicles remain pitifully weak, and therefore can't take to many hits before blowing up. When my character can take 10x more damage than the vehicle, there's something wrong.

Re: Borderlands
Vehicles can be fun but they do suck - unless I just drive fast, I can barely make it through the big highway in Knoxx land.
Re Mad Mel:
Borderlands is 'brown', but it's generally bright enough that it doesn't bother me [except of course in Zombie Island which works fine as being dark].

So the DLC is out if you haven't got it or queued it yet: New Revolution, 1.35gb - 800
I don't think the new patch to up the level cap to 69 is out yet. Is it weird that I think I'm going to wait to tackle this content until the XP for the quests and kills actually counts for something?

Re: Borderlands
Not up on Steam yet. Will probably wait for a Steam sale on this one (as I got the other DLC for like... $3). Haven't even gotten through the DLC I have though, I'm slow.

You mean I have to wait for the patch before I can start leveling up in the DLC?

Re: Borderlands
So I finally decided to check this game out and ordered it the other day. What are my chances of finding somebody to eventually play with online that will be around my level? Seems that since I'm so late to the game everyone (especially around here) will be way above me.

Destructoid Review of Claptrap's New Robot Revolution - Score: 3.0 -- Poor
"I love Borderlands. It was my #2 pick for Game of the Year in 2009. This is a disgrace and fans should let Gearbox know that it's very easy to perceive this as a lazy cash-grab. Small comfort comes from the knowledge that they outsourced its development to a company I can't remember the name of and won't check because it would require me to play through that fucking thing again. At least they have someone to share the blame with."

Ouch. Glad I'm waiting for the level cap increase to at least work towards that simultaneously. Still, there was no way I wasn't going to buy this. Shitty Borderlands is still better than a lot of games.

Re: Borderlands
I've been playing the new DLC all day. It's the most lazy-assed piece of DLC I've ever bought, other than Mad Moxxie.
Oh, and the collectible achievements make Braaaaaaaaains! look like nothing in comparison. At least the zombies actually dropped, you know, BRAINS for you to collect. That doesn't happen here for some of the many random items you have to sort through piles of loot to look for. Be prepared for hours of pointless grinding and ground-staring.
Example: One achievement requires you to find 3 panties, 5 fish in a bag, and 15 pizzas. In the last 9 hours of playtime, I've found probably 20 panties, 10 fish, and exactly...ONE pizza. One out of 15, in 9 hours of playtime. It's like they reversed the proportion of required items to the number of drops, so that you end up having to find more of the rare items and less of the plentiful ones. But it's ok, because you also get to look for 25 oil cans (very rare), 15 bobbleheads (very rare), 5 pairs of 3D glasses (NOT very rare, which again doesn't make sense given the lower number of them that you need to find), and 375 claptrap parts to help pass the time!
Bonus: 6 new areas, each roughly about the same size as the areas in Knoxx, and not a single fast travel point among them. Not even a vehicle this time to help you get around. More time to grind away for rare items! Oh wait, did I mention that not all of the enemies drop the rare items you're looking for? Those only come from Claptraps, not all the other enemy types. So that's good.

I'm bummed about the shittyness of the new DLC. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to wait for Borderworlds. Although I think Gearbox should have Duke Nuk'em out well before that.

Re: Borderlands
I'm an hour into the new add-on and I'm going to stop until they patch in the higher levels as there's simply no sense of accomplishment; no new weapons, meaningless xp.
