I'd have to disagree, and here is the proof why not:

Throw it away and you're still $1 ahead.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Got Guitar Hero: Metallica for $14.98 yesterday.
It was stickered $29.98 still, but when I scanned it, it showed $14.98.

Was hoping for $9.98, but $15 isn't too bad.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Pretty good haul today. Picked up Wolfenstien (360) for $14.98 and Mini Ninjas (360) for $12.48. I really liked that Mini Ninja demo; it made me think "I'll pick this up when it hits $20", so I'm glad I found it for even less and so soon after release.

Also had NHL 2K10 in my hands at $12.48, but ended up thinking I have too many unopened games right now.

No wonder I stopped buying XBLA games after the Summer of the Arcade; with what $15 can get you at retail, spending 1200 points on an Arcade game seems like a bit of a rip off now.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

I picked up Kung Fu Panda (360) for $7.48 and Mirror's Edge (PS3) for $9.98 yesterday.

I just decided to crack open Mirror's Edge and give it a go, so I tore the wrapper off and to my surprise, the game disc isn't even in the case! I called and talked to a manager and they told me to come in, but I just know that I'm going to have to put up one heck of a fight to make this end with good news for me. Is that safe to believe?

Ugh.

^^ That is why I gently shake a game case when I pick it up to buy it. Most of the time you can hear the disc spin a little to know it's in there.

My Target also had Ghostbusters (360) for $14.98 and Red Faction (360) for $9.98. I picked them both up and am going to return the other Red Faction I bought with the coupon a couple weeks back. Kind of curious how it's going to play out.

It will play out like this:

You: Here is a game I bought a few weeks ago and the receipt.
CSR: I refunded your purchase back to your card. Is there anything else I can help you with?
You: No, but thanks for asking.
CSR: Have a nice day!

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Swung by Target last night to see what they had and was surprised to see they were clearance out some of their systems. They had the PS2 bundle with Lego Batman and some other game for $69.xx. Then I got home last night and read about this.

That might be worth checking out again.

I'm hoping to find the Lips Number 1 Hits on clearance soon. I got the last one for $12.48 and had some fun with it. Its a good party game for people that don't want to worry about playing plastic instruments.

Nice. I heard it sucked, but for that price I'd bite.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

In one of my Targets they put a lot, like more than 100, DS games in clearance. I didn't check them, but the ones in the front were just shovelware.

They also put The Beatles Rock Band, the full package, in clearance, they have 5 boxes, it's at $170 or something like that right now, with 30% off.

It does suck. I nearly 100% it in two nights. Luckily the place I bought it from used will refund the price minus $1 + $0.50 per day you've owned it.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Last night I snagged Lego Rock Band - 360 ($24.98), Rock Band Unplugged ($14.98) and Monopoly - Wii ($14.98). There aren't too many great prices around here, but it seems the stores have put out tons of clearance games in the past couple weeks. Hopefully a lot of them stick around long enough to drop to 75% off.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

For 360 saw the Beatles Rock Band LE set for $125 & Band Hero set for $99. Also had the new Lips version with the mic for $29.98.

Does anyone know if any of this is worth upgrading for if I have the RB2 set? Or do most of them use the same equiptment?

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

If you are in the market for Lips: Number One Hits, check your local Target.
The game is on clearance for $14.98 now. Just a week or two ago, it was $29.98.

The game comes with a black, wireless microphone that is compatible with that game, obviously, as well as Rock Band, Beatles Rock Band, Band Hero(I believe) and Guitar Hero World Tour.

Mine have been keeping clearance games in the main locked game section instead of putting them on an endcap, so make sure to check there.

It's good since fewer buy them from the case, so they're there for the price drops. When they were on an endcap, the games would rarely make it past $27 before selling out.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

I thought my local Target wasn't clearancing any games for months, but then I saw an end cap clearance area several aisles away from the video game area, no way to notice it unless I was walking along the aisle running along the back of the store (which I never did before yesterday).
