Yeah, I liked the idea of it and the HOD court was fun, but the Tennis just didn't do it for me. Tennis has never been my thing though. Considering it is based on the highly regarded Virtua Tennis engine it probably is good, but just not my thing.

About time. I wonder if it will be able to resume multiple DVDs like my dvd player can.

I hope so. You have a HDD so it should be able to remember a nearly unlimited amount of discs.

Well, I picked up Hot Shot Golf 5 today while it was still on sale. I like it. Yeah, it's really similar to previous versions and doesn't seem very "next-gen" even though it looks pretty good. I like the new hitting system -- it's still a 3 button press but the new way (hitting at the furthest part of your backswing and again when you target the ball) feels more intuitive to me. Don't like that you have to load 4 GB of data before you begin. I don't know how long my 60 GB HDD will last if most games require space like that.

Can't believe Hot Shots uses the 4GB install as well. I still play my PSP version from time to time, but each version seems so similar to the last I never feel the need to get another one.

Have they always had the ability to reassign the controller setting (i.e. to controller 1)? I just found this option today when I tried to play a game but the controller was set to #3. I'd swear it hasn't always been there, but then I don't pay the best attention all the time.

Yeah my rental copy showed up the other day and I almost shit my pants when it went to install. This is a very bad trend that I'm not thrilled about. The only thing I will really ever play on my PS3 is titles not available on any other system and thank god for that will all these outrageous installs cropping up.

It's hard to even fathom how 4 GB of date could be in that game. It doesn't look to be the most graphically taxing or content-intensive game around.

Kind of an odd question, but if I want to upgrade the storage capacity on the PS3 specifically for game saves, PSN Store downloads, etc. can I just "add" an external/portable hdd running through the usb (which would be in addition to the regular PS3 hdd) or do I have to physically install a larger internal one in the unit?

If you want to add capacity for storing PSN stuff you will have to add an internal HDD. If you are adding capacity for music, movies and that stuff you can use an external.

You sure about that? I could swear that when my external drive is attached the
PSN store gives me a choice as to which drive I wish to download to. Maybe this
is just for storage and I'd have to put the items on the internal to play them,
I've never actually chosen to download to the external. I'll have to give it a try.

I think so, since it specifically mentions putting another dvd in and remembering the place of the first dvd. No idea how far back the memory would go, though.

It also doesn't explicitly state that it remember this stuff if you turn the unit off, though I hope that's a given.

I'll double check. I know it gives the option for video, but I thought game purchases and demos are done only on the internal.

It looks strikingly average to me (doesn't help that the cover looks like Assassin's Creed from the distance).

2.20 is out. They mention BD-Live functionality and resume play. It says it will resume discs even if they are ejected or the system is shut off.

How many discs will it resume? Is there a set limit, or could I throw 500 Blu-Ray discs in there and have it resume each one anytime I put it back in?

I haven't tried it yet, but I read on another forum that it will only resume one disc. If you play a second disc, it forgets your place on the first.

That's pretty weak considering there is a hard drive ready to be used for something like that.
