That last episode went as far as they possibly could without using the term Aspergers for Sheldon and have Raj come out.

This show is painful to watch. The storylines are way too thin to justify the existence of the episodes.
A couple weeks ago one storyline involved Howard and Raj identifying which floor tile was making a creaking noise in the nursery. Really? And their proposed solution to it was not only unfunny, it was stupid.

Maybe but just once in awhile they'll have a scene that makes it all worth it. That scene was Amy's fantasy at the end of this past episode. Sheldon playing engineer with her looking on had both my wife and I laughing out loud. Bialik's reactions in that scene were priceless. Rock You Like a Hurricane was a nice add too during that sequence.
The Charlie Brown hair and Sheldon's 'solving the problem' was excellent as well.

Just started watching this in syndication and it's a funnier show then I thought it would be. I actually think Howard is the funniest character on the show. My one beef is even though they are playing the sterotypical nerds who like Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, I think the show goes too far with them sometimes.
I'm suprised how popular this show is because you have to like the nerd stuff to relate to these guys, and I didn't think there was that many nerds watching TV. I have some friends who don't like Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, who don't like this show cause they think it's just too nerdy. You think this would be more of a cult show, but it's the #1 comedy on TV so it is appealing to a mass audience.

I always liked Howard the best too.

It's certainly more accurate than the other nerd related stuff I've seen from Hollywood. All of them have some level of exaggeration.

I get what you're saying, but being a policeman and a nerd are 2 different things. One is a job, the other is your personality.
My original point is the only people I know who watch the Big Bang Theory are ones that are into Star Wars, Comic Books, Star Trek, etc. There actually is alot of inside jokes every episode concerning those subjects that a person who is not a fan of them either won't get or won't relate to. For example, when they watch The Star Wars Saga in 1 day and Sheldon makes them start with Episode 1. They are all mad because the joke is that the Prequels suck, and only a person who is a Star Wars fan would get it about starting with Episode 4.
Alot of people watch Cop shows because deep down alot of wanted to be a Cop, CIA, FBI, etc. No one wants to be a nerd, either you are or not.

Actually I was just discussing this with a friend a couple days ago. Not sure being a "nerd" carries the same stigma anymore. Basically the other groups are figuring out that nerds are often more successful and can now learn from us.

I was one of those people who played sports so I was friends with mostly jocks, so I kept my Star Wars fandom to myself. If I went to school in 2016 then I wouldn't hestitate to talk about Star Wars and not worry about who thinks I'm a fan.
But I have to say that show does a great job of casting because these guys play great nerds. I remember nerds like these guys back in HighSchool and they were just like them.

Things were much different here. Never had to shy away from Star Wars fandom. Star Trek to some extent (before the TNG took off) but never Star Wars. Star Wars was the one series that crossed over clique lines.

I know when I was still in high school (graduated in 2005) that I felt the need to keep my nerdy interests to myself and the group of friends that were into the same things. It definitely wasn't the same as today where being a nerd is almost kind of the cool thing to some people.

Nerdy interests has invaded pop culture pretty heavily in the last decade, with superheroes and video games becoming much more mainstream too. The show is probably relatable in that even if a large portion of the viewers don't consider themselves nerds themselves, they know people who are in to these things or are familiar with some of that stuff.

Damn, I was really hoping the show was coming to an end... I'll keep watching this till the end most likely though. Which is likely why it won't end. :/

I've felt like the show has been on life support for a while personally. This season has been okay and I've been thinking it could be a decent one to go out on but I guess not.

It is still being advertised as it's #1 comedy. I'm surprised Life in Pieces isn't far higher. It's funnier and fresher.

Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons Marries Todd Spiewak in NYC.
They do! Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons married his longtime partner Todd Spiewak in New York City on Saturday, May 13, Us Weekly has confirmed.
Parsons, 44, who plays Sheldon Cooper on the CBS hit, and Spiewak tied the knot at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan, Page Six reports. The couple celebrated their 14th anniversary last November, and Parsons paid tribute to his boyfriend in a sweet Instagram post at the time.
I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest,” he captioned the pic that showed Spiewak singing. “One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke. Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera as our phones couldn’t do that back then hahaha!”
In 2015, the Hidden Figures star told Inside the Actors Studio’s James Lipton that the pair met on a blind date at a karaoke bar in 2002, where Spiewak sang Cher’s “I Found Someone.” He also talked about coming out in a New York Times interview in 2012 when he was appearing on Broadway in The Normal Heart.
Parsons explained that he never mentioned his sexuality in interviews until the reporter “just point-blank asked, ‘Was working on The Normal Heart meaningful to you as a gay man?’ And I was like, ‘Well, yeah. Yeah.’ And what a wonderful … I can’t tell you what a wonderful thing that was, what a gift he gave me with one question. It was suddenly out there and official.”

I thought he just proposed to Amy last week. What's going on here?
