Re: Vikings (History) -- Season 4 Discussion Thread -- premieres 2/18/15
I'm on the fence on this. I'll definitely finish the season, but so far they have just used the extra episodes to introduce filler into what used to be a tight story.
Just keep it to the Viking raiding and maybe some internal Viking conflicts. They seem to be going way too expansive trying to tell the story from all sides and then throwing in a bunch of seemingly extraneous stuff.

The England story is boring. Ecbert has turned into a cartoonish villain,I wish he would grow his mustache out some more so he could twirl it with every move.

I find the French king a way more cartoonish character than Ecbert. Ecbert has a plan and knows what he is doing, the French king is manipulated like a pinball.

The English and French stuff is terrible. This was the final straw for me, I asked myself why I was continuing to watch Vikings this season.
There is some weird stuff going on with the gender politics this season.

I love how Bjorn's lady is now a warrior after killing her ex husband. Sad about the kid dying and the queen lady not caring about it. Bjorn will probably not notice his daughter is dead.

Giant hand oh no. I thought they went to straight crazy town with the giant but no.
Teen Ivar looks insane. I think they are using special effects on his eyes to make him look like a white walker.
Ragnar leaving and just coming back like a boss. No idea how that is going to play out. I would guess he will take up the king mantle once again.

Maybe Lagertha somehow survived and Ragnar has been living with her all this time.

Really good time to put this show to rest. This half season has been terrible, pretty much everything has been boring. I don't know if I really care enough for this transition to Bjorn to keep watching.

Vikings is going to be on at least through the end of 2017. There's still 10 more episodes left in 2016 and another 20 for next season that will be split.
