I just got done watching this and then the movie. It was interesting to see where the elaborated on things. But I did find some of it to be tedious... Curious what they do for next season.

Just got done binging the whole season. Greatly, greatly enjoyed this one.

I loved the vampires-as-snakes thing. Thought some of the casting was spot on for capturing the looks of the originals as well.

I also just finished watching the rest of the season. Really enjoyed it. FX were great !

Story was intriguing enough, expanding on the original movie

Bring on Season 2 !

Trailer for the new season. IMDB posted a link via Twitter. I can't embed it.

Here's the trailer now from Youtube

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q53qM5O93zk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Directv now posts the episodes in HD on demand. So I won't have to wait until it hits Netflix.

Great. I went into s1 expecting to not like it as much as the original movie, but actually ended up enjoying it a bit more once stuff started to go down. It had a bit too much build up to that point though imo, which may have caused people to drop the show before it got to the goods.

I really liked it, and I saw Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey in the season 2 trailers. Bring it on.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

Just finished season 1 last night on Netflix.

I mentioned it early in this thread, but I get the El Rey Network, but not in HD, so I waited until this showed up on Netflix. I watched it on and off and then finally finished it last night.

Things didn't really pick up until around episode 6 when the group made it to the Titty Twister. I ended up really liking it. They followed most of what transpired in the movie, but gave different spins to some of it.

Looking forward to season 2. Directv actually has El Rey on demand in HD, so I won't have to wait until it drops on Netflix this time.

BTW, I noticed in episode 10 some nudity. They showed a woman's bare breasts in one scene. I didn't see the TV airing, so I wonder if that was censored for TV and re-added for DVD/Netflix.

Edit: I noticed a page back that some of you said the breasts did air on TV.

If any one has TWC, Season 2 Episode 1 is available on demand.

On a foreign network? Netflix international?

It's premiering tonight on the El Rey Network, which is owned and operated by Robert Rodriguez, who created the show. It doesn't air anywhere else in the States and El Rey isn't available in Canada.

I'd say El Rey Network judging from the station logo.

It aired August 20th and had that hashtag in the top right the entire broadcast.

FYI for those with Directv

I just checked and the season 2 premiere is available in HD on demand even though the actual broadcasts are only in SD.

Just started downloading it. Will probably watch tonight or tomorrow.

The episode title is "Opening Night"

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

Just finished the premiere. Not bad. Liked seeing some of the back story of Santanico. I guess she and Richie are acting like a Bonnie and Clyde. But, the vampire sex scenes between them were so unsexy. I mean biting each other's necks?

Eiza Gonzalez is a pretty good Santanico. Really hot, although no one can beat Salma Hayek playing her in the original movie. I'm glad they are giving her more to do in season 2 since she was introduced very late in the 1st season.

Nice to see Esai Morales and Danny Trejo. Trejo looks like a badass addition to the season.

I guess I'll be watching those on demand the entire season to get them in HD.

Turns out it was posted on demand by a few providers early on 8/20 as mentioned in post #138. My provider wasn't one of them.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

at Danny Trejo (The Regulator) in episode 2 hacking up that cop with his machete and then eating his eye ball. That was sick and awesome. Hope he sticks around awhile.

2 episodes in and they've taken a pretty different direction from season 1. Richie and Seth are separated and it's changed the dynamic a little.

Really surprised they brought back Sex Machine even though he "died" last season.

at Carlos' new fangs

Glad that Directv posts episodes on demand in HD the day after it airs. They don't expire until the end of December, so you have time to catch them later if you're not watching right now.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

I'm also watching a day late on Comcast to get this in HD. If they carried El Rey in HD it would shoot toward the top of my channel list as their weird mix of movies is right up my alley.

I binge watched Season 1 last week and I'm now caught up on Season 2 so far. I liked the shout out to "The Train" in episode one as it's touches like that that let you know you're watching a Tarantino/Rodriguez/Kurtzman project.

So did anyone finish the season? I just binge watched the last 4 episodes.
Overall it was pretty good and I'm hoping season 3 gets even crazier.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

I'm still waiting for the HD version of episodes 9 and 10 to be available on demand.

Directv's on demand for El Rey, especially for this show is a mess. They initially posted the episodes the day after they aired, now they've dropped the ball and it's not getting posted until several days to a week after they air.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

I just watched season 1 and 2 on Netflix Canada. Oddly enough, I had to watch it on my PS3 Netflix app because my smart tv Netflix is setup to access US Netflix and it only had season 1. I think this has something to do with the show being marketed as a "Netflix Original", but only outside of the US.

Everytime Santanico speaks, I go "there's Alice!". She has the exact same raspy voice as Milla Jovovich in the Resident Evil films.
