Huh? It had profanity and lots of blood. This was not a PG-13 show.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

Just finished watching the first episode and it was pretty damn cool! I'm really loving the detail mythos that's being incorporated into the vampires and their origins. I think Don Johnson hit it out of the park. He was badass and gave Earl a shit ton of depth. Federico's character was also badass. The Gecko Bros were cool and now that I've seen Ritchie in action I don't really hate his face as much. I did not like the Bros look during the promotional spots but they were alright and the whole foreshadowing of Ritchie and the vamps is pretty cool.

The vamps that were shown also reminded me of HP Lovecraft and Sil from Species.

Looking forward to the rest.

On a side note, I did not see a his tattoo sticking out of his collar. Oh man, they better have that tattoo in the series or it's dead to me. Even with Big Kahuna in the intro.

Available in HD on demand on Comcast but listed under the title "Dusk till Dawn." Love the imposed character limits of their 90's era user interface.

As for the show I liked it enough to give it a few more weeks.

Thanks for the heads up. The name in the guide has changed from last week so my DVR wasn't gonna pick it up. They changed it from "From Dusk Till Dawn" to "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series".

I know hardly anyone here is watching due to the channel not being in wide circulation.

But, for anyone who cares, it was renewed for a 13 episode 2nd season today.

Comcast in my area doesn't carry the channel, but they do have it available to watch online.

Awesome. I'm really enjoying this series. Even though I wish it was shown in HD.

Guess I should be thankful that I can watch it here in Orlando on Brighthouse Networks in HD.

I think the show is pretty damn good three episodes in, but I do miss the nudity from the movie.

I've enjoyed it so far. The backstorys have been fun. Making Carlos a vampire is an interesting twist but makes the decision of the Titty Twister as the meeting place mean so much more that they can go with if they wanted.

It'll be interesting to see when they get to the club, if they even get there, and how long they're actually there and then where the show goes after that.

He seems like a snake more than a vampire to me. It's a snake cult. He had scales when changing back from impersonating the kid.The fangs look like snake fangs as well.

fun show, with some nice tarantino-universe tie-ins. like "big kahuna burger," & the "Ok, ramblers, let's get rambling" quote from episode 4.

To be fair, Big Kahuna was the burger that he brought back to the hotel in the movie.

Watching the second ep now. Crazy show, not at all what I expected. Loved Carlos' line after sucking the life out of the kid. "Huh, cherry lime.."

If anyone can't watch this show because they don't have El Rey. The show is coming to Netflix after it airs it's last new episode.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

Just caught up on this series, watching all 5 episodes last week.

For the most part I'm impressed. About the only issue I've had is that Ritchie seems to be possessed by the vampires in the show, where in the movie he was just fucked up. I didn't expect it to be there, but was still disappointed by the lack of "Ritchie, would you do me a favor and eat my pussy for me" line.

I'm guessing that means we won't get the Cheech Marin pussy speech when they reach the Titty Twister. At least they kept the name of the club.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 3/11/14

I'm finally all caught up and the show rocks!

Vilmer playing Carlos who was originally played by Cheech is a nice touch. He's like the fucking
Spoiler:
cobra vampire king or some shit.

I like that they've expanded the mythology on the show to give some of the minor characters in the film an actual back story. It's entertaining as hell.

Not me. Considering Carlos was heavily involved in the episode - it made it worthwhile.

Looks like this week's episode will be Titty Twister time! (0) (0)

Yup, that's the one thing dampening my excitement for the show. It just seems ridiculous to not have gratuitous nudity.
