Re: Orphan Black (BBC America) - Season 2 Thread - Premieres - 4/19/14
I finished binge-watching the season. I thought it was pretty good... not amazing, but not bad either.
I had some issues with it being a bit convoluted and the constant back and forth with Helena (ie. keeps getting caught and released/escaped... back and forth). The implementation of the music was annoying. There's nothing wrong with the actual music - it gives a good feel for the show, but it's used much too often throughout.
Tatiana Maslany is the huge selling point of the show. Her portrayal of those characters made a bigger difference than their looks to give the impression that we're seeing different actors. Sarah, Allison and Cosima look similar enough to kill the illusion, but the way Tatiana portrays their different characteristics felt authentic enough that many times I forgot they're played by the same actress. Much praise here.
It's refreshing to see a Canadian TV series get worldwide attention.

Re: Orphan Black (BBC America) - Season 2 Thread - Premieres - 4/19/14
Anyone with a good (or heck even bad!) suggestion on how to remember/refresh what happened on Season 1?
Was the special they showed a review of the Season 1 plot at all?
Watch the last couple of episodes?
Man up and and binge watch the entire season?
Hope the intro in the premiere magically recaps all the key stuff?
(I watched season 1, but I think I forgot most of it)

Just got back from a screening of the premiere episode in NYC, great Q&A with members of the cast and the creators after the showing. I think you guys will enjoy it.

FUCK YES. God I love this show. That Tatiana Maslany wasn't even nominated for an Emmy is criminal. I've never seem someone play dual roles that convincingly different from one another, let along ALL of her roles in this show. Not to mention playing one role like it's acting like another role. Insanity.
It was pathetic that she wasn't even nominated. She'll get the nod this year.

Pumped up for Season 2 tonight. Got the DVR all set.
Hoping it can live up to the high expectations Season 1 created.

SO GLAD to have this one back!
I've been watching Tatiana Maslany doing the promo rounds on the talk shows. Didn't realize how petite she is, but what an absolute dynamite.
Alison and that whistle.
Dumb q but once she was thrown into the van, why did Alison immediately request Dr. Leekie if she didn't really know Daniel & the other goons were from the DYAD? Was it just a hunch that this could be part of the agreed periodic medical testing?
I was shocked when I heard the eerie (screechy tire/whistling tea kettle?) music cue. That btch will not die.
Not many answers provided in the premiere, but the hour still flew by fast. Still time for those wanting to get into the show. Awesome start.

Loved Alison blowing the whistle and spraying the mace on the guy.
at Art catching her performing in the musical rehearsal.
Tatiana's comic timing is impeccable.
The hour moved pretty fast. Alot of stuff to digest.
Looks like there is a bigger conspiracy behind the kidnapping of Kira.

Is it just me, or does the Allison character look like Leah Remini during her early King of Queens years (when she was thin)?

I don't know why but I thought Sarah playing Cosima was hotter than Cosima. It's funny how the show plays with you live that. Story seems to be getting a little convoluted though.
I didn't need to see Felix in assless chaps.

One thing I noticed while I was catching up on this show the past few weeks... I was recording every airing so I wouldn't accidentally miss an episode and sometimes got duplicates. Sometimes the same episode would be listed as TV-MA on one airing and TV-14 on another airing, which leads me to believe they sometimes air a cut version and sometimes not?

Any episode, new or repeat, which starts at 8pm or later is the TV-MA version, while any repeat aired before 8pm is the TV-14 version.
Wonderful second season premiere last night.

Enjoyed it, but could have used some more pieces to set up the season. We already knew about the religious organization. I think the biggest reveal was that Rachel's group didn't take Kira.
at Alison in the parking lot buying her goods.
"I knew I smelled lesbians in my bed." Classic Felix!
I like that Art is being brought into the fold. Should help change up some of the story options.
Glad Paul is helping too, but I can't see him lasting long being able to keep playing off his screw ups.

She had a great line right as the camera was pulling away, "How's your Mom?"

Alison spraying the mace while tweeting her whistle was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time. I think she's my favorite clone.
Great premiere - so glad this show is back.

The show is back with a thunder. It didn't lost anything in the break.
I liked all the scenes already mentioned. I didn't watch the show again before the season started, but I was able to get on track with the intro.
Let's already start the Emmy campaign!

great premiere!
Does anyone else think this show deserves separate threads per episode? espeically if things get complicated as the season progresses

Great premiere. I rewatched the first season last week and it was worth getting a refresher. I had forgotten about several parts of the story, the birth mother, Rachel's role, etc...

The ratings for the S2 premiere are in! The 9pm broadcast of the S2 premiere had 0.620 million viewers.
Technically, that is down from the 9pm S1 premiere (0.684 million), but that aired right after the mid-S7 Doctor Who premiere.
Overall, Orphan Black S1 averaged 0.375 million viewers at 9pm -- the S1 finale had 0.376 million viewers -- so 0.620 million for the S2 premiere is great (I'm sure BBC America is pleased).
