I liked the original movie, and will definitely be watching this.

Coming in October, as Djariya mentioned.

I've got no experience with the source material or any past adaptions. Going into this with nothing but a synopsis and the trailer. =P

HBO probably won't officially announce it until after the premiere, but it's pretty much a certainty this has a second season deal locked up.
That is what I thought with Vinyl

It will be cool to watch this in Winter.

Saw the movie in the theater when it came out, had big hopes--but it sucked. This looks like it might be good however.

You saw the orginal Westworld in theatres back in 1973?

So if you actually remember it, you must have been born in late 1950s/early 1960s?

Damn, if that's the case you might be one of the oldest members here.

There's several of us old folks around here. I was 15 when Westworld was released. If that freaks you out, I remember watching Twilight Zone and Dick Van Dyke Show first airing on network primetime.

You were born in 1958? Twilight Zone premiered in 1959, Dick Van Dyke Show in 1961.

You would've been 1 and 3, respectively.

Or do you mean that you saw some episodes when they were originally aired?

Later seasons. Dick Van Dyke was on until I was 8. Remember watching the 60min. season of Twilight Zone.

This looks to have the most nudity of any HBO show since Rome.

After the first trailer, I had to go recheck the cast list b/c I thought Ed Harris was in this. They actually showed him a little this time.

I don't recall Rome having excessive amounts of nudity. Atia didn't have any nude scenes at all in Season 2.

Westworld looks promising. I'm a little iffy with having Evan Rachel Wood as the lead, but we'll see.

What's "mature" about the mature trailer?

This looks awesome. If only I got HBO... If it's great I'll probably end up seeing it on BD after the fact.

Yeah, it's hard to tell from the short trailers, but this looks like it has a GOT-level scope, scale, and budget. I actually really enjoyed the old 70s movie for what it was, but this could be something spectacular.

Early reviews for the first episode look good, at least the one I read on IGN. Looking forward to this!

The show premieres this Sunday, Oct 2nd. 100% on RT (14 reviews). I did just read a negative one on Variety though.

Kind of a rambling devastating review. However I deduct a couple of reviewer points for the word "trope" being used twice. One time is even too many.

Bring on the tropes! I'll be looking forward to Sunday nights this fall.
