Make this a show about Renee Montoya, Crispus Allen and Josie Mac and then I'll overlook that they're just jamming a Selina Kyle in pre-teen wall climbing gear into this.

Depending how well this does I wonder how the tone may change over time. It feels like it's going to be one of those shows people think will be something it's not.

OMG, I can't believe they are doing .... with Selina Kyle. They're going to royally fuck with Ridder's continuity. Damn, looks beyond stupid that Penguin is....
Kidding. I thought it looked pretty solid.

It looks fines for what it's suppose to be. I don't care if it's different then any set continuity from anything else as that's all over the place anyway. Different universe with it's own story.
Gotham - Season five.......it's Batboy! NO! That would be horrible. Batman is at least fifteen years away.

Wow, some of you guys will buy anything on name alone. The acting in that trailer was horrendous - and you know they're showing us the best stuff from the pilot. Which is not to say the show can't grow into something good, but they're sure not selling me with what I've seen so far. No way this thing gets beyond Season 1. And you know they cancelled ALMOST HUMAN to make room for this, right?
Actually thought this was a really good idea for a series, too.

It's the same stance they took with Alcatraz, another WB produced show.

I'm NOT a Batman fan, but the trailer looks pretty good. I'll tune in. Doesn't look like a stupid Agents of Shield wannabe

I thought it looked good. Ben McKenzie has earned my respect after his role on Southland. Plus, I love everything Batman, so I'm definitely in for this.

I think people (fanboys really) get upset when shows like this "harm continuity" or the like. They should relax. "Gotham" isn't trying to be the "definitive" Batman. It's just a different take on the legend/mythology, as a TV drama prequel thingy.
Besides there's only one definitive Batman, and that's Frank Miller and Jim Lee's "All Star Batman & Robin".

I thought this would be a procedural but the trailer doesn't quite make it seem that way. Anytime the word "saga" is used for a tv show, it's usually a long drawn out story. Gotham is basically a soap opera it seems. It looks good, but will it actually be good?

I was say since AH destroyed the ratings (in a bad way) for Fox on Monday nights forcing them to move Bones off Friday (when it was actually doing good) back to Monday, and running the episodes out order to give viewers the 'better' ones is what actually canned AH. Why try a round two when Fox has been burned by Touch, Dollhouse, Human Target etc.

As for Gotham, I'm looking forward to it, and I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Initially, I didn't think Arrow was going to be anything special, but that show has turned out to be great.

Set photos of Bruce and Selina.
Camren is a cutie.
Looking good. I for one(seemly the only one) looking forward to this series.

I foresee a lot of the same development problems that Agents of Shield had in its first dozen episodes. Ratings are going to die off once most casual fans realize there will be no one in costumes running around. Fox will almost certainly force them to start throwing in more overt comic book continuity, whatever they can get away with.
I think they should have Bruce and Selina a little older, there are entire storylines closed off due to their ages. I guess Warner wanted them as young as possible, in case the show ran for several years and ran into the same problems that Smallville had in its later years.

So now it's running into the same problem Episode 1 had? A too young Bruce means you have him stuck like that without the hint of actually doing anything towards being Batman for seasons...
then again, this isnt' the batman show. It's just generic crime procedural with a comic book twist for no other reason but to get ratings.
It's not that I'm fanboying out about continuity - shit, DC fucks itself over on that on its own. But it didn't seem appealing to me. It's like having a CSI: Smallville. Or how about a Newsroom like show in Metropolis before Clark ever showed up. Those just seem like you ask yourself what's the point? Shit, I'd much rather watch a "Wings" sitcom comedy based in the diner at Farris Air.

So, they have actors from SouthLAnd, The Wire, and Copper....they just need someone from The Shield as a regular and it cannot help but be bad ass .
