President Logan is by far my favorite character not named Jack on the show. My God... Itzin is freaking amazing. Can't wait for the inevitable showdown between him and Jack.

Oh, and what's the point of scrambling the Air Force? They've shown CTU to be basically right across the river from the UN. So Jack will probably already be landing before the Air Force even gets their helmets on.

I enjoyed this episode. It didn't surprise me that they slowed things down after what transpired the last few episodes and especially back to back silent clocks. I think this episode did a good job setting up the foundation for the final 6 hours.
Greg Itzin was awesome in this episode. He can make some of the hokiest dialogue seem believable. I loved his discussion with Taylor about the Russians and the greater good and especially when he quoted Julius Caesar. I agree with an earlier comment that I don't see what he's gaining from all this. Maybe he's hoping that Taylor will give him some kind of public credit for saving the peace talks? And maybe he thinks this will get him some public redemption. The fist pump was awesome! What frustrated me was when Taylor ignored Ethan and Jack's voice of reason and shut them out as she fully sided with Logan.
The travel times in this episode were ridiculous, especially with 9am rush hour traffic in Manhattan. Jack traveled by cab from the hospital in about 3 minutes to CTU. And President traveled from the UN to CTU in a 4 minute commercial break.
Jack's 2nd confrontation with Dana was solid. Loved how he really got into her face this time around and pounded it into the table and bitch slapped her several times.
I can't wait until Jack and Logan finally square off. 1st and foremost, he needs to find that damn Assassin. BTW, glad to see that Annie Wersching got 1 more paycheck from FOX.

As said above, you could see the UN in the background during the CTU helicopter scene. I think we can give them a pass on that 4 minutes.

Another solid one in the bank. Mostly filler though, not much action. Good to give Jack somewhat a breather though.
Apparently in NY, the UN Building, CTU, Jack's apartment, the courthouse and the hospital are on the same city block. But watch, starting the next episode we're going to have 15 minutes in the copter, to make the most of their money. Oh and the Air Force will be on his ass at the :01 mark as well.

People who know me understand how much i love this show. Total guilty pleasure. But i am in the section who believe they dropped the ball with President Taylor compromising her principle for peace here. For her to disregard the Russions sabbatage and continue on with a evil participant is rediculous and in the long term how can peace truly win out? SHe has proven in the past she is smarter and more idealistic then that. Hell, she prosecuted her own daughter!

Everyone turns on Jack in the end. Use him up and then have him taken into custody. (Palmer aside.) I was SO glad to see him take that helicopter--SUCH a great ending to the ep.
Chloe in charge is still totally ridiculous. She was the IT person a couple hours ago, used to be in some secret circle with Bill/Tony and then Jack, and now she's commanding and won't give Jack even the slightest benefit of the doubt.

That's really not fair. She told Jack where the Russian gangster was, and she allowed Jack to interrogate Dana. There's a big difference between giving Jack the benefit of the doubt and willfully disobeying the President's direct order.

I guess what I meant was she was just in this black ops secret club, doing IT stuff, and now she's a by-the-book leader of the whole CTU. It seems ridiculous and utterly unbelieveable, even by 24 standards. Oh, and she got the job because some guy in the White House had his eye on her, either because of her IT skills or because she pulled a gun on Homeland Security in her workplace. Of all people I guess I thought she'd side more with Jack, that's all.

This season reminds of how George Lucas made the pre-quals with all these twists.
Making everything connect just for the sake of connection.

I enjoyed this talky episode. Didn't find it boring after the last few weeks of intense episodes.
Plus Logan (or should I say Itzin) just gives his scenes everything. Itzin is sensational. I just get sucked into his BS and by the end, ask myself why I bother to even listen to these evil guy...haha
Can't believe Taylor went against what she has fought for these past two seasons. Didn't think she would even consider continuing the peace process. Though under Logan's power of persuasion (like I said, sensational), I can't blame her.
I also liked the lines:
Bauer: "I want justice!"
Taylor: "I want peace!"
The ending was too cheesy for me, but overall, I liked the episode.

I really wish the first half of the season hadn't been so shitty, since the last few have really been great. Goddamn how I hate Dana Walsh and how I loved Jack beating the hell out of her.
