Kelso (to Gooch): "If I were 10 years younger... and you were 10 years younger..."
Ted: "It's too late sir, I've already tapped it."
Go Ted!

My three complaints about the new series, so far:
1) The acting is horrible
2) The sets look fake
3) The show has largely lost its heart and what emotion is still there comes off as forced

I am starting...actually, I am not liking this new direction.
A) Its confusing because both JD and Lucy have inner monologues. I was expecting Lucy to take over by the this episode, if not earlier.
B) What the hell to happened to JD and Turk? The eight seasons prior has them growing up and becoming adults. Now it's like the writers went back to season one for these characters. They act exactly the same as they did in the early seasons instead of the grown up adults they became.
C) Either I missed it or was not paying attention but what happened to JD's job at the other hospital and Sam, as well?
D) The focus is supposed to be on the new interns but every scene feels like its trying to capture the old "Scrubs" feelings. I was really hoping that Denise would really grow as a character in this continuation but she is still pretty one dimensional. Last week's episode gave a glimmer of hope that Denise was changing for the better; this episode just threw all of that out.
I can understand not wanting to put people out of a job but come on, eight wonderful years on a show means that at least half of those people are getting to get employed again. This just feels like the writers can not let go of what has happened and in a way are just repeating themselves. The magic is completely gone in the series and the chemisty between the cast is non-existant. Even Braff's and Faison's chemistry is gone from the series.

Lucy is wretched. I don't know if its the actress or the character. But there is nothing about her thats funny or endearing or even likable. Shes just annoying. This episode had its moments. The stuff with Ted was good. JD & Turk's Bromance is always good. But anything involving the new cast brings the show grinding to a halt.
As Shaun said the show has lost its heart.

Braff is only signed on for 6 eps, so his time is running out.
I really enjoyed the non-JD/Turk stuff last night. I think that Cox is doing great and am glad that Kelso is around still (and it was good to see Ted and the Gooch).
I think this show still has it's heart and the new newbies are growing on me. I even laughed at Cole yesterday.
I hope we get a few seasons of this group.
I can wish can't I?

The "bromance" between JD and Turk has become jump-the-shark irritatingly stupid. It's gotten to the point where I'm actually looking forward to JD leaving the show. Sad really.

This week's episode was the first time I have laughed at something Cole did. I think it was him eating the sandwich at the end being totally oblivious to what is going on. Still, aside from that one moment he is a terrible character, a terrible actor, and I'd really like to see him gone, but unfortunately that doesn't seem likely. Ansari did this type of character much, much better.
I like the Australian, but we really haven't seen enough of her. This week's episode was the most screen time she's had thus far, but even then she didn't have very many lines. I wish they'd do more with her and leave Cole the underdeveloped one.
You can tell with Lucy that the writers are trying too hard to make her like JD. She isn't really her own person yet; instead she combines the inner monologues and fantasies of JD with the self deprecation and lack of confidence of Elliot. Since she is going to be the "main" character, they really should try and make her her own person instead of a hollow copy of JD.
Drew is still the best new addition to this show; I know they want to keep the inner monologues and fantasies, but when they focus on Drew the show shines and then it comes to a halt often times when they switch back to Lucy.
Denise is good too, but I think her character worked better with Sunny Day as a foil. Dr. Cox is still just as enjoyable and him dealing with Med Students gives him more opportunities to make fun of them and give them a hard time; with Interns he at least knew they passed Med School, but that isn't the case here. Kelso is good in his limited role. It was great to see Ted and Gooch back. Glad they got a proper sendoff.
All in all, the show has its problems and probably won't last long, but Drew, Cox, and Denise make it worth watching...and I watch Better Off Ted immediately after so that is incentive too.

I liked this episode better than last weeks, but I don't know how it will fare once J.D. leaves. It seems like the funniest material is the Turk/J.D. interaction. The new group isn't that great and Cole is still annoying.
It was good seeing Ted and the Gooch again and I like Dr. Cox's elevator exit.

Still enjoying it here - I laughed out loud at:
Denise: "You're boobs look weird"
Lucy: "Not from up here!"
It'll be interesting to see how things change when JD leaves, as they are really splitting the time there. This group is likeable enough that I'll keep watching it to see how things progress.

I think continuing Scrubs was a giant mistake, but it sounds like Better Off Ted is going down too, which is really unfortunate.
