Heroes -- "The Eclipse Part 2" -- 12/1/08

I'm sticking it out until the end of the season but it seems that each episode brings more confusion and doesn't take the story anywhere. I really hope they can finish strong this season.
Heroes was my clear number 2 show behind Lost during season 1 but it's becoming more of an after thought now.

Not sure how much stock to put in Heroes Wiki but:

Evolved Human Abilities
The Haitian has the power to manipulate people's minds. He can selectively interfere with the use of special abilities</b. and selectively erase memories. He uses his power in conjunction with hand-to-hand combat skills to subdue other evolved humans, as shown in Four Months Ago... when he defeated and restrained Peter Petrelli.

I don't know the episode, but I know that proximity to the Haitian does not automatically negate powers. I know that's been demonstrated.

The big difference is that in season one we had regular people leading normal lives dealing with extraordinary powers and situations. It was understandable when a character would do something stupid. Here we are two years later and these same people are still doing the same moronic things. They've learned zilch since gaining their abilities. Not to mention they all stopped leading normal lives sometime last season.
Bart: (Perplexed by how much time Homer can invest in his hair-brained schemes) Dad, do you even have a job anymore?
Homer: I think it's pretty obvious that I don't!

I'll step in and say that I always thought the Haitian could turn off his powers. I never assumed otherwise.

Well, how about this: Peter involuntarily absorbs powers, even powers he doesn't KNOW he's absorbing, as evidenced by him gaining his mother's power, his brother's, Sylar's TK, Sylar's main power and the Ba-bomb dude, whose power he DIDN'T want, so he wouldn't blow up.
So, then, why doesn't Pa Petrelli turn all scaly Mohinder-style?
My theory would be the healing factor curing his unstable mutation, but that should then stabilize it and he should be able to be super-strong with Spidey's wall-cling ability.

LOL excellent question, but I would bet a large sum of money no one in the writing room even considered this. I don't think they've been thinking very hard about all the contingencies--and that's why I'm hoping if Kring comes back this thing'll get a reboot. Because, really, if we think about it, they should be thinking about it, too.
