Reviews are up and are stratospherically high. OpenCritic has Super Mario Odyssey at 98 / 100.

I...might have to get a Switch now. Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t bail on it like the Wii U.

That's pretty awesome. I was a little disappointed with Super Mario 3D World, but this one looks to be a huge step up. Most excited I've been for a Mario game since Galaxy.

The Arstechnica review and pictures really ramped up my excitement. I can't wait for my copy to arrive.

That actually may persuade me. I haven’t bought anything from Overstock before but a little discount plus free shipping is helpful. Thanks!

My copy shipped from Amazon late last night. I’m hoping UPS delivers it somewhat early as I’m off Friday and Saturday. Seems like they usually deliver around 6pm though for me.

I have always really enjoyed Mario games, but i have never once found a single of the games a 10/10. This game does look the best yet though and its the only game so far that has made me consider getting a Switch.

Super Mario Bros 3? Super Mario World? Super Mario 64? Super Mario Galaxy? I think all of those are 10/10s for me, or as close as you can get.

What do you consider a 10/10 game?

I’d like to play Super Mario Sunshine. I never had a GameCube so never had a chance to play it. It’d be nice if the eventual Virtual Console includes GameCube games.

I really liked Sunshine, although finding all the blue coins was not a task I was up to.

That game was a blast, with probably the best overworld music in a 3D Mario game.

I remember Nintendo Power had some sort of deal for the game for subscribers, so there was a thread on another forum with all of us posting at the same time where our order was and finally getting the game.

I wonder if Luigi is in this game or if he gets brushed to the side like normal.

I've heard about the 8bitdo controllers. The only thing I'm unsure of is the fact that they don't have motion controls which I'm not sure how much this game uses. Also reading some more it sounds like the last Switch update made them not work. Not sure if there's been a patch or update to fix that.

Motion controls, if I'm not mistaken (for Mario Odyssey) are used only when you are using single handed joycons as a control scheme.

I hope you guys didn't order from Best Buy and expect delivery today. They have really dropped the ball lately on getting their titles to people on the release date.

^ fedex shows mine out for delivery, so I guess I'm lucky (looks like it shipped from TX to TX, so it didn't have far to go). I'm hoping I can give my daughter (4) a chance to play and run around a bit in the game.
I'll be playing this off and on with WolfII.

I ordered mine from Best Buy. Both it and my coin are out for delivery. I even received my $10 rewards certificate. Worked out great as long as nobody steals it from my front porch.

A Switch is already well worth buying in my honest opinion. It’s quickly become my favorite console I own. I’m damn excited to play this. UPS is out for delivery so I have to play the waiting game for a while.

I’m going to give the 8bitdo controller a chance. Should arrive on Halloween.
