I never actually finished the first game, so I restarted it on the Xbox One. It looks fantastic on there.
And I now know what to expect about one character at least thanks to Oldboy's last few posts.

Yeah, spoilers or not, it’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together.
Maybe (hopefully) I am assuming too much and it won’t be what I expect, but I would bet on it being exactly that.

To be fair to Oldboy, I wouldn't head into a movie sequel thread and expect not to see plot points and spoilers discussed from the original movie.
So why would you head into a game sequel thread and not expect to see spoilers for the first game?

Does anybody know if there will be an explanation of the controls in the game or will we have to ask each other once it's released?

Not sure how anyone who has played the first RDR wouldn't know this was a prequel. The date (1899) is in the trailer. Rockstar has made it pretty clear from the beginning that this game would take place 10 years or more before RDR. Sorry if I'm "ruining" this for anyone, but it's been common knowledge.

The game isn't included in the chest version, but is in the other version. I thought I saw elsewhere that the steelbook version wasn't a Gamestop exclusive, but right now that's how they have it tagged on their website.
EDIT: looks like it's up at Best Buy now.

Why didn't they make that horseshit box 150 bucks and include the game? I hope nobody buys that and they end up putting them on clearance for 20 bucks.

Seems to be a recent trend. State of Decay 2, Wolfenstein New Order, Battlefield 1, and Mass Effect Andromeda all had versions like that as well.

I just see packages like the collector's box a set of random toys and collectibles and nothing more. Don't really see the big deal.
Although I'm probably buying one of the digital versions anyway.

That’s totally insane not to include the game. How’s that possible? Why would they do that? Really to get the extra $ for the game? If that’s it, it still absurd. Digital, probably special edition for me...
