I don't think gasoline itself goes bad or whatever, I think the problem with leaving a car full of gas is that it can damage the car itself. I don't recall them addressing where the gas came from and...

I actually think they would. I actually think the characterization is better than average for a monster movie. I think at the very least Grant and Malcolm are memorable and iconic characters.

I was 15 when The Lost World came out. I'd already read the book and I vividly remember my disappointment at seeing the action figures at Walmart with character names that didn't match the novel.
