Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Sad news if true but not that unexpected. As the market for expensively priced physical media dwindles and more labels encroach on a space that Twilight Time almost had to itself years ago, obscure...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Hadn't realized Warlock was released. Might pick it up if they put it on sale.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Sad news, RIP. It was Redman that predicted the coming end of physical media a few years back when discussing his label.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

It's only a matter of time until Sony puts out JC's Vampires for themselves.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

You have to be careful and check reviews, some of the foreign editions are vastly inferior to the Twilight Time version.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I desperately want The Egyptian released again. It was one of their first Blu-ray releases and sold out before I even became aware of the movie's existence.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

There are way too many dedicated cult and genre labels (Arrow, Severin, Scream Factory, etc) already mining that territory. Rights fees have almost certainly gone up to license the horror stuff and...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Nice pics of Christine.

For those into Count Yorga, this eBay listing has the new Twilight Time releases of Count Yorga, Vampire and Scream and Scream Again for $45 combined. Considering Count...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I think I may balk at Vampire's pricing. It's a movie I would surely buy if I saw the Blu-ray at $10, but over $30 with shipping is too much for one of Carpenter's lesser movies. I will hope Sony in...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Wait an hour after ordering officially opens. Too many idiots try the minute it becomes available. This won't sell out in less than 48 hours.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Twilight Time sells their releases through TCM and Screen Archives almost exclusively. They do list releases on Amazon as a third party, but that is only for getting the more common stuff. Vampires...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

If this were two years ago, I would have expected Vampires to sell out within 72 hours of release. The horror market is over loaded these days by nearly a dozen different labels catering to it on...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Most of the time it comes down to fiscal reasons. Film X needs a new transfer or restoration that costs serious money. The studio doesn't think they can recoup the costs of said new transfer with a...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

The home video departments are currently being run by executives with very little knowledge of their own studio's catalogs. It comes down to that fact. All the people that used to make these...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

This might have sold out within a day a couple of years ago. But the genre space it occupies on Blu-ray is heavily crowded now with potential purchases from Scream Factory and Arrow Video.

It...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

That was my supposition. It's possible they could move 5000 units, though I don't think it would be an instant sell-out like their prior horror titles.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I might get Vampires, though I am not as big on it as some others. It probably will sell out but I think Twilight Time will have a tough time moving 5000 units at their pricing. The Blu-ray market is...

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

They really should re-enable the cart trick when there are fewer than 500 copies left. I saw a lot more discussion of certain discs when everyone could see the dwindling supply.

Screen caps available from the recent Journey to the Center of the Earth disc. I wonder how sales have been going? I think 5000 units may have been a little too much.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I can't say if this happened with Heaven & Earth, but there are rumors some studios will force you to sign the licensing agreement before they will let you see the current master/transfer.
