Like I said, Paramount is the reason the movie sucks.

Imagine you’ve got a screenplay that’s all about those two dudes and the studio says “rewrite it so it’s entirely without that one guy”....

Having a title that indicated it was sort a “side story” and not another chapter of a saga that should be held up side by side with G1 and G2 would have tempered expectations.

He wrote a massive biography about Miramax where he was imbedded with them for months and claims he never saw anything. I think he maybe says whatever he’s paid to say or what profits him personally.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying it’s a great film, but people criticize it for a lot of the wrong reasons.

The more time that goes on the more doubts I have about Peter Biskind. Easy Rider Raging Bulls is great, but I think the guy might be poisonous. Like Sweet Smell of Success.

Ultimately Paramount fucked up. Everything that is fundamentally wrong with the film is their fault. Duval not coming back is their fault. Insisting that it be called Godfather Part 3 is their fault....

Very interesting. And yes, the criticism of Sophia in that film has always been a smokescreen to criticize her father, who is a genius filmmaker who intimidates untalented people in the industry.
