They are. I searched for the title last night and all four came up: 1 & 2 theatrical, 1 & 2 extended.

It was stated elsewhere, but Von Trier approved the two-part version without even seeing it himself. That's what I meant by him having "nothing to do with this cut."

Yeah, I noticed that when I watched it. I didn't notice that the audio was different, but the AR was definitely not what you said it was theatrically.

As for the film, I enjoyed it, but didn't...

I remember that. I drove all around DFW at the time, searching for the fixed copies. I ended up just importing from the UK.
