I could not agree with you more. When I first saw the trailers and read the synopses, I thought the movie had the potential to be excellent. But the concept got lost somewhere along the way.

I love these movies. I enjoyed the hell out of MI:2. It's popcorn fun. I go to to the movies to be entertained. That movie knows how to make fun of itself.
